2 Corinth 6:14-18.
There is application both for the Christian team and the Christian/Unbelieving team.
A yoke is a wooden beam normally used between a pair of oxen or other animals to enable them to pull together on a load when working in pairs, as oxen usually do; some yokes are fitted to individual animals. There are several types of yoke, used in different cultures, and for different types of oxen.
A group of animals that are yoked together are called a team. A team of oxen are yoked together to get work done. There is a task at hand and they are yoked together to harness their individual strengths to collectively make lighter work and achieve results faster. If the yoked animals work at different paces, work is slow.
One animal will end up doing all the work. It will be pulling at both the original work and the weight of its yoked partner. In essence, it will wear itself out whilst the other one will be lazing around. In the case where both have equal strengths and decide to pull in different directions, energy is expended but no real work is done. They divide their power and effectiveness.

This happens when there is no uniform vision. A couple is yoked together under God. Imagine if husband and wife are transposed into the analogies I have stated? One is doing all the work and the other lazes around. They get nowhere fast. If there is no head in the home (who is the head?) they pull in every direction but that which they should go.
They dissipate their energies. If the wife decides she is in charge, she will appear to be doing work, but in effect, there is no effective work done.
Please take note! Wives, stop arguing, quarrelling and making the leader look bad! Work in tandem! God put you both together to get work done, so work together to get work done! Wife please note you are not in charge! You are sending the wrong signals down to your children if they see you taking up the position of the boss. You might think they are not seeing and not learning, but they are taking mental notes and will apply same in their own homes when they grow up.

The same analogy holds true in the relationship between the Pastor and the rest of the congregation. We have to work together with the pastor for effective work to get done.
Sense the course/pulse of the leader and work with him or her!
