1 Corinthians 3:1-3 (GNB)_
As a matter of fact, my friends, I could not talk to you as I talk to people who have the Spirit; I had to talk to you as though you belonged to this world, as children in the Christian faith. I had to feed you milk, not solid food, because you were not ready for it. And even now you are not ready for it, because you still live as the people of this world live. When there is jealousy among you and you quarrel with one another, doesn't this prove that you belong to this world, living by its standards?
Just as growth is expected from every natural men, growth is also expected from us as child of God. When we refuse to grow, we are depriving ourself of so many good things. There are greater things that God wants to reveal to us and using us perform mighty things you in the lives of others, but none of these will be possible if we refuse to grow spiritually, Heb. 5:11&12.
When we refuse to grow, we find ourself unable to live the way that God wants us to live as His children. God wants us to grow in faith,in knowledge, in virtue ,temperance, patience and godliness, kindness towards one another and charity.
2Peter 1:8-9 says, “These are the qualities you need, and if you have them in abundance, they will make you active and effective in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. But if you do not have them, you are so short sighted that you cannot see and have forgotten that you have been purified from your past sins."
God wants us to mature spiritually and put away childish lifestyle, 1Cor. 13:11.
Desire to grow spiritually and in the knowledge of Christ, 1Pet. 2:2-3. Desire and commit thyself to the things that makes you grow spiritually. Pray always in the light of God's word in line with the revelation of Christ (Luke 18:1, Col. 3:16).
Praying in the Spirit (Jude 1:20). We should be ready to pray for others (Eph. 6:18) fellowship with other believers as the manner are.
May God grant us the desire to grow spiritually. And help us focus on the things that will make us grow.Amen.
