LEARNING TO BOSS YOUR HEART

God has made you the judge of the affairs of your life. What you allow, heaven allows and what you disallow, heaven disallows. The devil is an usurper; if you don’t rise to take charge, the devil will take over. The heart which is the nerve of control waits to be “bossed”. The Bible says for you to “keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it are the issues of life” Proverbs 4:23. The issues of your life shouldn’t be left hanging or floating.

They need to be directed in the light of God’s Word and revelation. You need to rise and take charge and learn to guard your affairs with discretion. Advice may come, counsels may flow in; but you need to stand to determine which way to go. God is not going to hold anyone responsible for what your life turns out to be; no matter their level of input in your life. He is going to hold you responsible.

Scriptures affirm that each and every one of us shall give account of himself to God. If you have to give account; then you will have to be the boss of your life’s control unit which is the heart. If your “talk” is going to make impact in the lives of men, it has to be seen to have made a positive impact in your life.

If your life has become so disorderly that it will not heed God’s Word in your mouth; then you can be sure that God’s Word from your mouth will not make meaning in the lives of men. It doesn’t matter if you talking the scriptures. The life from where the spiritual talking is coming from is very primary, as far as the impact of the scriptures on men is concerned.

Boss your heart with the mandate you have received from on High to guard your affairs with discretion. If your heart is slumping in discouragement and depression as a result of the unpleasant circumstances surrounding you; you can talk to your heart and your innermost being to praise the Lord all the same.

You can take a clue from the approach of the Psalmist in our scripture text, when as boss over his heart; he spoke to his soul not to forget all the benefits of the Lord. Men rule by their words. You need amidst life’s challenges, to talk to your heart and your innermost being to praise God and relax in his faithfulness. If He did it before, He will do it again. Arise and be the “boss”.
