There is a factor that makes real the victory we so eagerly long for in every aspect of life. For so many today, it is the self factor when men talk from the standpoint of the energy of the flesh. They take pleasure in recounting all they feel they have achieved on their own and they feel they can do it again.
Little do they know that we are nothing in ourselves, neither are we sufficient to think of anything as of ourselves, our sufficiency is of the Lord. There are yet some others who delightfully bring to bear the human connection factor. They feel they are connected enough with men, to scale any form of hurdle. Suffice you to know that vain is the help of a man.
In the words of the psalmist – “some trust in chariots, and some in horsed: but we will remember the name of the Lord our God” Psalm 20:17. The man Caleb in our Scripture text did not anchor his expectation for victory on his self will, though he had so much of his courage to lean on; neither did he seek to gather support from the other tribes of Israel in order to experience the reality of what God had told him. He chose to anchor his faith on the God factor, to make his victory real. The God factor is it! No matter what the situation is, no matter how terrible the situation has become; with the help the Lord brings, you will get over it.

Caleb in our scripture text proclaimed that victory over the occupants of his divinely appointed portion of land that was going to be as the Lord had spoken. Child of God; if God said it, He will do it. You don’t have to worry about any situation the Lord had spoken about. God upholds all things by the Word of His power. If His Word has gone forth concerning your situation, no matter how terrible it becomes, it is under control. Your victory shall come true because God’s Word guarantees victory.
