Many have become so used to the way they lived before they became born again, that they are inclined to all manner of carryovers in their walk with God. They seek to have it the way it used to be. They seek to equate righteousness with unrighteousness and they eagerly strive to balance such an unlawful equation. No! It doesn’t work like that.
If nothing has changed; then your testimony of a new birth in Christ cannot be true: for “if any man be in Christ; he is a new creature: old thins have passed away; behold all things have become new” 2 Corinthians 5:17. Light and darkness cannot coexist. When light comes, darkness disappears. If it is true light, it does not negotiate with darkness; darkness gives way at the instance of light.
“As many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe in His Name” John 1:12. It is not meant to be a struggle; because, light does not struggle with darkness. There is an empowerment that comes upon you when you receive Jesus Christ as your Lord and personal Savior. It is the power that guarantees your walk as a child of light. It is not a feeling kind of a thing, it is a heart thin.

If you believe this truth in your heart and you confess this empowerment with your mouth; there is nothing of darkness that will be able to withstand your light. So much has to do with your willingness and obedience. It is the willingness of God for you to walk in the light; this can only happen when your willingness is enthroned in His own will.
Seeking to have it here and there will not take you anywhere. God counts on what you have resolved in your heart and the Bible says that “if there be first a willing mind, it is acceptable according to that a man hath, and not according to that he hath not” 2 Corinthians 8:12.
You have the inherent power; you have been given what it takes to walk in the light and to avoid the unfruitful works of darkness. Unleash the power and let it show in every area of your life; including your passions, your talking and your associations.
