The kingdom of God was often preached by our Lord Jesus Christ.
We are still preaching about it but it's becoming less significant and been replaced with motivational speeches on how to make wealth, leave massively to show the glory of God over our success and etc.
Most people have the notion that the kingdom of God is heaven or a physical place somewhere else.
Far from that but the kingdom of God is the universal reign of God over everything.
Psalm 103:19 NIV "the Lord has established his throne in heaven, and his kingdom rules over all".
Though there is clear evidence that sin has separated man from God yet he promised us a kingdom and we can only inherit it through faith.
Gen. 17:8 NIV "the whole land of Canaan, where you are now an alien, I will give as an everlasting possession to you and your descendants after you; and I will be their God".
The kingdom of God requires belief and genuine repentance.
You must belief that there is a King ruling a kingdom. Also in that kingdom there is a creator that is reliable and requires absolute righteousness.
Mark 1:15 NIV "the time has come, " He said. "the kingdom of God is near. Repent and believe the good news".
Remember, "the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking but of righteousness, peace and joy in the holy spirit."
What seekers of the kingdom most know.
Matt. 6:33 NIV "But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness and all these things will be given to you as well."
Jesus cautioned his followers that they should "seek first the kingdom."
I wonder why he could not tell them to seek first wealth, food, cloth, mansion or power etc.
We sometimes pray and Say "let thy kingdom come". maybe we don't know that it implies us "letting God to reign over us as he reigns in heaven".
Kingdom seekers must allow the king to reign over them.
Secondly, Jesus mentioned "righteousness". If you are a kingdom seeker you must do the right thing that Jesus has instructed you to do and stop abandoning everything to "God's grace cover all".
The Grace should not be misplaced to Magic.
Kingdom seekers should be genuine in their actions and speech.
The question is, Does it pay if you seek the kingdom?
Yes it does! This is an assurance from our master. He said "every other thing shall be added unto you".
Every other thing can be health, shelter, car, peace, joy, food, money etc.
Are you seeking the kingdom or you're seeking wealth and other pleasures of the world?
Jesus is demanding a kingdom from your heart not else where.
Praise the Lord!
