And when she pressed him hard with her words day after day, and urged him, his soul was vexed to death. What happens when men fall asleep?
What does it even mean for one to sleep?
Many people may have different opinion to what sleep means but it will surely come back to 'rest'.
But it may intransitively mean to be inattentive, careless or unconcerned. It may even mean backsliding.
From the passage above we have read about a popular figure called Samson. This was a man that was destined to save his people, endowed with a special gift but because of his insensitivity, carelessness and lustful desire he lost his spiritual role and was made object of laughter.
His spiritual role was to protect and redeem his people from the hands of the great Philistines but he failed and fell asleep. After several trial by Delilah, at a space of time his strength was taken which was his spiritual gift and finally he was taken captive by his enemies that he was initially meant to defeat.
The amazing part is, someone who was meant to fight war is now used to entertain chiefs.
Every one is born with a spiritual gift attached to his personality.
We sometimes become quick to judge the action of Samson but reverse may be the case in our lives.
We may not lust after women like he did but remember, we may lie, we may steal or cheat, we may keep grudges, we maybe disrespectful to parents,we might have oppressed others, we might be gossips,murderers, unfaithful in marriages, drunkers etc.
These which are mentioned are also capable of making your spiritual role or gift dormant.
The moment you are found in any of the above Act be mindful because you may be in the state of been asleep like Samson.
The devil usually cease the opportunity of sowing evil seeds in our families, business, health even the Church while we are at the state of sleeping.
Many family crisis, business setbacks, critical health challenges are in a way blamed on some people and they have forgotten that the devil sowed this evil seed while they were asleep.
If any of these is happening to you, there's a master that can uproot what has not been sown by him.
Families need to go back to their personal alters alongside with the churches and seek for revival and restoration.
Samson was restored you can also be restored.
If you have not given your life to Christ you need to do so now.
For Jesus is knocking hard on your heart that if you open up and allow him to come-in and dine with you he will give you eternal life.
