Divorce isn't In the divine plans of God.

According to the Holy Bible, marriage is an institution created and ordained by God.So it's a sacred covenant to God. It's a lifelong joining of two people into one flesh Genesis 2:21.It means both partners are responsible to maintain, promote, support and preserve the commitment as a lifelong relationship.
One Pharisee in Jesus' time was of the thought that adultery provided the only reason for divorce(Deut 24:1-4) Another group also claimed that you could divorce a woman for just any reason, even just for a personal dislike (Matthew 19:3).
Jesus responded to both claims by reinforcing God's covenant principle within marriage (Matthew 19:4-9).

Matthew 19:3-12
3 Some Pharisees came to him to test him. They asked, “Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for any and every reason?”
4 “Haven’t you read,” he replied, “that at the beginning the Creator ‘made them male and female,’[a] 5 and said, ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh’[b]? 6 So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.”7 “Why then,” they asked, “did Moses command that a man give his wife a certificate of divorce and send her away?”8 Jesus replied, “Moses permitted you to divorce your wives because your hearts were hard. But it was not this way from the beginning. 9 I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another woman commits adultery.”10 The disciples said to him, “If this is the situation between a husband and wife, it is better not to marry.”11 Jesus replied, “Not everyone can accept this word, but only those to whom it has been given. 12 For there are eunuchs who were born that way, and there are eunuchs who have been made eunuchs by others—and there are those who choose to live like eunuchs for the sake of the kingdom of heaven. The one who can accept this should accept it.”

He said the only reason God allowed Moses to permit divorce was the hardness of human hearts. (Matt 19:8). He reminds us that a hardened heart is not the best way. God is the only One who joins people in marriage, and He can change the stony heart to a softened one. God said in Ezekiel 36:26, 'I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit in you. I will take out your stony(hardened),stubborn heart and give you a tender, responsive heart.'

Brethren in Christ, the question by the Pharisees "should a man be allowed to divorce his wife for just any reason? The answer IS NO. Malachi 2:16 says for the Lord God of Israel says that he hates putting away for it covers one's garments with violence, Says the Lord of hosts. Therefore take heed to your spirit, that you do not deal treacherously. One may argue that some great men of God divorced their wives in Ghana. True but their example is not the yardstick.

Though Moses permitted divorce, it is clearly not the original thought of God. So if your partner is not living up to your expectations, it will not be a good reason for a divorce. Neither will barrenness, poverty and sickness serve as good grounds for a divorce. Divorce is unacceptable in Christianity. Our God is a God of restoration, bringing the lost back. That is why God cared for and loved Judah, only to have it turn away to other nations and their false gods (Ezekiel 16:15).

This spiritual adultery didn't push God to abandon them. At Ezekiel 16:60-end,God was prepared to receive them again. How many times have you not behaved like Judah? Brethren,it is not too late to get back to your partner. Bury the hatchet, forgive and forget. Our brethren who are yet to enter into the marriage institution, be sure that you prayerfully seek God's will before you make the lifelong commitment of marriage.

It's my prayer that God will sustain our marriage and cancel any threat of divorce in the name of Jesus Christ. God bless our marriages. Food for Thought :Matthew 19:6 what therefore God has joined together, let not man put asunder.
Be Blessed.

The problem here my friend is that sometimes a woman or man may not share that belief about marriage. So it's important to know if the person you plan to marry shares those same ideas. (I share these values about marriage, but I'm divorced...)

I am very sorry to hear about your marriage issue. It is very important you marry someone who shares the same ideas as you. Preferrably the two of you must be brought up with the same church doctrines
