THE TRUTH ABOUT ANOINTING OIL

in HeartChurch2 years ago

When it comes to anointing oil, yes, it's biblical. The Bible has spoken about it both in the new and old Testament.

Exod.29.7 - And you shall take the anointing oil, pour it on his head, and anoint him.

Exo 30:25
Isaiah 10:27 (It breaks yokes)

And many other scriptures. When we come to the new testament.

James 5:14, Mark 6:13 , a sick person can be anointed with oil for healing.

Matthew 26:7, Luke 7:46 , a woman poured a fragrant oil on Jesus' feet as a preparation for His burial. But in John 11:2, Jesus makes it clear that Mary anointed Him with oil.

Therefore, anointing oil is Biblical, HOWEVER , God has not given it to us as a standing doctrine, that a church should always dwell on anointing oil. That is why we have the Holy Spirit, the Bible calls Him our helper,

John.14.26 - But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.

If the Holy spirit says anoint a church or a person with oil, it is perfectly well, but it becomes religion when you think that every sick has to be anointed with oil, or every Sunday, last Sunday in the month you have to anoint people with oil.

In actual sense, we need to embrace the leadership of the Holy ghost to avoid carnality, religion and protocol in church.

John 26:13 ( says whatever the Spirit hears, He will tell us. He hears the mind and heart of God, and He leads us perfectly). Churches struggle because they have forsaken the leadership of the Holy Spirit.
