You know what has happened throughout the province of Judea, beginning in Galilee after the baptism that John preached—how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power, and how he went around doing good and healing all who were under the power of the devil, because God was with him. Acts 10:37-38
In our life’s journey to become like Jesus we should do the things that Jesus did.
To those who by persistence in doing good seek glory, honor and immortality, he will give eternal life. Romans 2:7
Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. Matthew 5:15-16
We evidence our growth and maturity in Christ by glorifying God in our service to others. Just as Jesus came to serve and do the will of the Father by laying down his life for us, as we serve others with a joyful and sincere heart, we grow into the likeness of the Son of God. As we renew our mind through our study of the Scriptures, we are empowered by the Holy Spirit to lead a transformed life of service to others that brings glory to God our Father.
Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up. Luke 18:1
As followers of Jesus who are being conformed to his likeness, we are not only to be faithful in our commitment to study God’s Word and perform acts of service but we are called to be steadfast in prayer.
