Life is everything. But guess what, life without health is almost compared to lifelessness. Sickness is man's greatest enemy because death is inevitable but sickness is. Death can become an enemy if it comes at the wrong time.
I was sick on Saturday and the symptoms prevailed throughout the weekend. I began recovering yesterday and I'm happy because everything is fine now.
But before doing that, I had to take a short time to rest with my little nephews.Due to this sickness, I missed my usual laundry clothes in the #homesolutions community. But I'll never fail to share the laundry activity I did yesterday. After returning from school in the early afternoon, I was left with no option than to wash the clothes and shoes I failed to wash on Sunday due to my illness.
Here are the processes I followed to ensure a nice laundry yesterday:
I first gathered all the clothes and shoes together into a bucket. Inside the bucket also, I had my sponge, brush, hangers and liquid soap properly arranged.
The shoes with white soles were stained after my parents and the little children wore them to church on Sunday.
So on getting outside, I fetched enough water for washing and added the needed quantity of the liquid soap to make huge fumes.
After making the soapy water fume, I gathered my clothes and soaked them up and washed them.
While still washing the clothes, I also turned on the tap and filled the other bucket with water for rinsing the washed clothes.
After washing each dress, I squeezed the soapy water off them and dipped them into the rinsing water.
Next was drying the clothes. I often use hangers to hang my clothes on the line for drying. Like I said in my earlier post, hangers help dry clothes faster by exposing larger surface area of the clothes for atmospheric air which do the drying. Hangers also help make clothes straight and avoid unnecessary roughing of clothes.
So drying the clothes marked the end of clothes washing. Next up was to wash the shoes. For the shoes, I had to make a separate soapy water.
Then I used my brush and sponge for the washing. For shoes with exposed surfaces, using a brush to scrub them is easier but for those with intricate holes and gaps, I used the sponge to wash them.
While still washing the shoes with the scrubbing method, using my sponge and brush, the atmosphere changed. It was cloudy and this is a sign of heavy rain.
This pushed me to pack my clothes from the line and move them in before going to conclude washing the shoes.
After I had taken the clothes in, I went ahead to wash off the shoes and rinsed them properly.
Since it was drizzling outside, I had to move the washed shoes to the verandah for drying. I arranged the shoes by the base of the iron bar for drying.
