Hello dear of this community, where solving a problem, fixing, repairing, giving ourselves that time to learn in the middle of the process is possible and today we can do many of the things that we previously paid for ourselves. It is possible, with patience, time and desire to learn in the midst of what we want to do.
On this occasion I want to show you how I carried out part of the repair of my living room furniture, which deteriorated the part where we sat, the leather was peeling, in short, it almost broke on its own, since the material expires and this caused the nylon to cut the leather and peel off over time. So let's get to work, I wanted it to look a little different for these holidays.

Currently, many of us Venezuelans, and in general in any part of the world, want to do economical repair work on our own. In this way, we economize in our pocket and we can save for other things, we even learn and we can be a guide for others in whatever they want. do, similar to the jobs we do at home. Doing these household chores ourselves is undoubtedly satisfying.
The furniture is small "L" type leather for a small room. As you can see in the image, it was broken in the sitting part and that does not give it a pretty view. So I decided to improve its appearance a little, even without the complete upholstery, I will only repair the part where we will sit and later I will show the complete upholstery process, because the excitement of repairing my furniture myself is priceless.

Very well, to begin, as in this first job I will only repair the part where we sit, I will begin by cutting what is already relatively deteriorated or broken, I will use scissors.
This way I can remove the leather that is placed covering the rubber or foam, which cushions the sitting part. It is not difficult, we must study what type of furniture we have; photograph and show how it was placed, because in my case I liked my furniture as it was, however the deterioration led me to only modify it, taking off the bottom part to fix it little by little.
When we are cutting, we proceed to remove the leather little by little, and we try to remove it completely, or as I did, removing the foam from the leather, even without completely removing the leather from the wood of the furniture.
In this way we are left with the furniture, now without the foams, but I do not completely remove the leather to be able to seal the bottom part and in this way, it has support. Note: Remember that if there are screws in the wood that could damage the new piece to sit on, these must be removed.
Our foams or sponges, separated from the furniture, so what I continue doing is looking for the fabric that I chose days ago to make the new lining, or do it in a different way, since the leather came covered and glued completely and it could not be separated to wash, nor remove in any way, but now this will be possible.

Taking into account the measurements of the furniture, regarding the part of the seats that I want to repair. The measurements in my particular case, the left side of the furniture, measures: Length 1.38 meters, Width 0.60x2 cm and 0.15 x2 cm and on the right side of the furniture: Length 1.25 meters, 0.60x2 cm and 0.15 x2 cm , for a total of 3.60 meters of this fabric that I decided to buy.
I begin to measure, mark and verify, to make it exactly like the foam mold. Paying attention to the details.
Shaping the lining of the furniture, it is presented to see how it looks and then proceed to sewing it.
When we have cut everything, we do our other activity so that this job is perfect. With sewing, I used a simple machine, which is the one I have at home. Use a brown nylon upholstery thread, a 0.70 cm zipper, the fabric of my choice, scissors, pins and the sewing machine of course.
I sew various garments from time to time and I have the machine at home and I have to use it and I learn in the middle of what I am preparing to do. It's not my first time sewing, so it's easier for me.
Of course the seams were not done in a single day, it took me 4 days to make the linings, because in between, and between household things, but the expected result was worth it.

It was a pleasure for me to show the work in which I saved by doing it myself at home, because paying a seamstress is expensive and degluing and removing the material from the furniture is also expensive. So, while we learn in the process I show you what I have achieved at home.
