One of the appliances that has become a must in our home is the fan. We have become so accustomed to having a fan in our bedroom that sleeping without it can become a real odyssey.
After a decade it was our turn to say goodbye to our beloved fan. This was one of the first things we acquired as a couple and the truth is that it was a great investment, because it seems to us that it is of good quality. In January, in one of the many power outages, a seemingly never-ending problem, it was damaged. It turns out that the power came on so strong that it burned out the motor.
My husband tried to repair it, but was unsuccessful. He took it to a friend and it worked for a couple more hours. So, there was nothing left to do.
We were raising money to buy a new fan. The good thing is that the first two months of this year were very cool, but March has started out terribly hot. This week, we went to Merida and walked all over downtown. We found a great variety of fans and many at good prices.
In every store, my husband asked the same question: Is this fan a hub or a spinner? Which made me very curious and I asked him what the difference was. It turns out, he prefers it to be a hub fan because he believes that they last longer and are of better quality, since the blades spin more easily, while fans with bushings tend to have problems and get stuck, since more friction is generated, which makes them wear more easily.
I found that spinner fans are much more expensive, but also harder to come by. We found fans that were even over $80, but our budget was limited to $40 max.
We walked around a lot and saw many options, until we found this one that caught my husband's attention and we ended up choosing this one that claims to have double speed, something that is great, but we have our doubts if it is so because the price is quite accessible. It cost us $22 and although we only have three days with it, we liked it quite a bit because the difference between the change of speeds is quite noticeable, it has a very light noise and cools quite a bit, in the early morning causes us to turn it off, but we remember that it helps us to keep the mosquitoes away and we prefer to put an extra blanket.
I can't recommend it yet, because it is too early, but I really hope it will be as good as the one we had. That one was Rollinns brand and I'm sure if it wasn't for the electricity problems we have in our state, it would still be working.

Amiga no sabia eso de los ventiladores, no se si José sabe pero es súper útil la información. Por otro lado, me alegra que hayas podido comprar el ventilador porque es súper útil.
Yo le compré uno a mi mamá hace 2 años esa misma marca y todavía lo tiene y funciona muy bien, todo depende cómo uno lo cuide.

El ventilador es muy útil para alejar el calor y la plaga, lo importante es que debemos hacerle mantenimiento muy seguido para que no acumule polvo porque sino ese polvo nos lo lanza y lo aspiramos. Por esa razón no salimos de un catarro.
