DIY : ARREGLA TU ENCHUFE ALARGADOR EN CASA SIN GASTAR . || FIXING YOUR EXTENSION SOCKET AT HOME WITHOUT SPENDING . (ESP || ENG)

Hoy en día, casi todos los hogares disponen de una toma de extensión, que sirve para alimentar varios aparatos eléctricos, como el televisor, el ventilador o el cargador del móvil, desde una sola toma.
Al igual que otras personas, yo también tengo una en casa que me ha ayudado a alimentar mis aparatos.

Ayer me di cuenta de que mi alargador ya no funcionaba, lo que me complicaba la tarea de alimentar la mayoría de mis aparatos. Tuve que utilizar diferentes enchufes de pared, pero el espacio ni siquiera era suficiente, ya que mi habitación sólo tiene dos. Sé que la mayoría de nosotros hemos tenido problemas similares.

Así que rápidamente pensé en comprar uno nuevo. Hoy, de camino al trabajo, decidí comprobar el precio, pero, para mi sorpresa, ¡era demasiado caro! ¡Ahahahaha! Me he reído y me he dicho: "¡Omor! ***De momento no me lo puedo permitir. Tengo que encontrar un plan B".

Extension socket is found nearly in every home these days, and it serves purpose by giving you space to power multiple electrical devices like your television, fan , phone charger from a single electrical outlet.
And just like other people, I have one at home that has been helping me power my gadgets.

Yesterday, I noticed that my extension socket was no longer working, which made it stressful for me to power most of my gadgets. I had to use different wall sockets, but the space was not even enough since my room has only two. I know most of us have been having similar issues.

So, I quickly thought of buying a new one. On my way to work today, I decided to check the price, but to my surprise, it was way too expensive! Ahahahaha! I laughed and said to myself, "Omor! I can't afford this at the moment. I need to find a Plan B."

Así que cuando llegué a casa, decidí intentar arreglarlo yo mismo antes de volver a planear la compra de uno nuevo.

So when I got home, I decided to trying fixing it by myself before planning again to get a new one.

PASOS QUE UTILICÉ PARA ARREGLAR MI ENCHUFE EXTENSIBLE EN CASA. ||

STEPS I USED TO FIX MY EXTENSION SOCKET AT HOME.

Utilicé un destornillador y aflojé la tuerca detrás del enchufe.
I used a screw driver and loosen the nut behind the socket.

Después de abrirlo, utilicé un tester para comprobar qué partes tenían corriente y cuáles no. (¡Ten mucho cuidado en este punto!)
Tras comprobarlo, me di cuenta de que la resistencia estaba quemada, posiblemente debido a fluctuaciones de corriente o a una tensión muy alta.
After opening it, I used a tester to check which parts had current and which parts did not. (Be extremely careful at this point!)
After checking, I noticed that the resistor was burnt, possibly due to fluctuating power or a very high voltage.

Así que no estaba dispuesto a conseguir una resistencia nueva y arreglarlo en ese momento. Todo lo que hice fue quitar la resistencia estropeada, desconectar el cable conectado a ella y conectarla directamente al interruptor de alimentación de la toma.
So I was not ready to get a new resistor and fix it at that point. All I did was remove the spoilt resistor then, detached the cable connected to it and connect it directly to the power switch of the socket.

Volví a enchufar el alargador a la toma de corriente, lo encendí y ya funcionaba perfectamente.
I plugged the extension socket back to the wall socket, switched it on and it was now working perfectly.

Para estar seguro de mi trabajo, utilicé mi cargador para cargar mi power bank y probé si funcionaba. Afortunadamente, se estaba cargando, como se ve a continuación.
To be sure of my work, I used my charger to charge my power bank and tested if it would work. Thankfully, it was charging, as seen below.
