I don't know if you remember that some time ago I fixed the garage door of the house that had a bad roller and it was very difficult to move it, especially for my children, my wife and my mother-in-law, but apart from that that gate needs a big job to recover it because it has not been maintained for a long time and it already has many parts that are rusted and if it is not repaired it will get worse, so I started to see prices to fix it so I went to a hardware store near my house to see if they had what I needed.

No sé si recuerdan que hace un tiempo arreglé el portón del garaje de la casa que tenía una rolinera mala y era muy difícil moverlo, sobre todo para mis hijos, mi esposa y mi suegra, pero aparte de eso ese portón necesita un trabajo grande para recuperarlo porque hace tiempo que no se le hace mantenimiento y ya tiene muchas partes que están oxidadas y si no se comienza a reparar se va a poner peor, así que me puse a ver precios para poder arreglarlo así que me fui a una ferretería cerca de mi casa para ver si tenían lo que necesitaba.

The hardware store I went to, even though it is small, was very well stocked and the prices were not bad, for example the anticorrosive primer was 27$ a gallon which is what is going to be needed because it is a big gate plus a small one which is the one at the main entrance but it is used and it is worse than the big one.

Iba a preguntar por fondo anticorrosivo, además de la pintura de aceite negra y lijas, aunque por el grado de la corrosión de la reja hay partes en las que voy a tener que usar un cepillo que tenemos en la casa con cerdas de metal que es lo más idóneo y la lija para las otras partes y para dar un remate después de pasar el cepillo.
La ferretería a la que fui, a pesar de que es pequeña estaba muy bien surtida y los precios no estaban mal, por ejemplo el fondo anticorrosivo el galón lo tenían en 27$ que es lo que se va a necesitar porque es un portón grande más uno pequeño que es el de la entrada principal pero lo se usa y está peor que el grande.
The enamel for the final finish I saw one that seemed good although I do not know the brand but it says it is a high protection enamel, and for us who live on an island I think it is a good idea to buy that but there was no quart which I think may be enough for the gate because it is a little expensive per gallon, but it could serve for the other fences of the house. I still have to go to a bigger hardware store because they may be a little cheaper, I'll be telling you which one I buy and when the work begins.

El esmalte para el acabado final vi uno que me pareció bueno aunque no conozco lo marca pero dice que es un esmalte de alta protección, y para nosotros que vivimos en una isla creo que es una buena idea comprar ese pero no había de cuarto de galón que creo que puede alcanzar para el portón porque está un poco caro el galón, pero podría servir para las demás rejas de la casa. Igual tengo que ir a otra ferretería más grande porque puede que estén esas mismas un poco más baratas, ya les estaré contando cuál compro y cuando comience el trabajo.
Y bueno amigos eso sería todo, si ustedes tienen alguna recomendación para hacer ese trabajo en la reja? Quizá conozcan algún producto bueno que yo pueda usar aquí y que me puedan recomendar se los agradezco. Saludos y hasta otro día.

Para este tipo de trabajo es muy importante escoger los materiales adecuados por la zona y porque están expuestos. Ojalá pronto se haga ese trabajo
