Hi there all,
Loving your work here and can't wait to become so much more experienced and professional like you guys, so thanks so much for sharing your freakin brilliant work and teaching me along the way.
So I remembered that I had these stills and was inspired to post these test shots after a conversation with @skuuun earlier.
Although I was testing out a way to lightpaint down in the back paddock during xmas last year, my bodgied together tools completely failed me and so realising just how clear the sky was, I began experimenting with just the stars and unfortunately I am unable to edit the footage (can't even open it any any of the dozen programs that I have tried so far), but was able to get these screen shots when I first captured it and although the whole tiny planet scene is considered to be a bit gimmicky by some/many... I actually LOVE these shots- especially the first one, so I thought that I'd share them here.
I did put them through photoshop just then, but only to give them a bit of a polish up...
sweet! what camera did you use for these photos?
Wilson He's not only named after Tom Hank's bestie in Castaway, but he's also famous for being an InstaPro360 🤣
Yeah and that's one of the many rolls that I can't open no matter what software I try and the camera won't even do any in-camera stitching...error error error....😡
So lucky I grabbed those stills as soon as I shot it...cause it looks like I'll never be able to use the footage...

Hi,
Please read and respect our community rules ;)
Oh sorry. What did I miss?
"Rules
Only lightpainting pictures
No photoshop edits" 😉
Oh sorry. I missed the bit about not photoshopping.
Well that rules me out of everything in this community then doesn't it.
Shame I'm so honest about what I do to my photos from my crappy phone camera.
We don't have any problem with other kind of photography and we all do other genres (IR, astro, portrait...). But here we're talking about lightpainting only.
You'll find plenty of photography groups and digital art communities to share this kind of work with. Tiny planets are cool but this is not the right place to post it 😉
Cool. My mistake.
The tiny planets did start off as a night of test lightpainting but my bodgy torches didn't work...so I tried that instead...
Whats IR?
Infrared photography, that's what I do during daylight :
Oh wow cool, I see.
Tallying up my finances to see if I can pay off a bridging camera and after seeing what @papilloncharity can do with his, I'm thinking about how I can wrangle a Canon Powershot sx70, but I'm just doing the research now cause I want to be able to lightpaint/ astrophotgraphy and do everything else with it (and all the other ones are wayyyyy out of my price range- even if I had a job- which I usually do, just not in lockdowns...)
So glad you told me about that cause that another feature I need to make sure it has!
I suggest you to save a bit more money and buy a second-hand reflex : lenses on bridges can do everything but poorly, and you will regret your purchase if you want to invest for years. Second-hand market for cameras and lenses can be a good way for you to get a decent gear ;)
Can you please unmute the post as others in the general photography community that I have crossposted it into might be able to appreciate them instead.
It's weird because it's supposed to me muted in our community only. I unmuted it so can you please modify the hashtag?
Ok so I took the #hashtag out but I don't know how to take the actual post out of the community...?
You know when you go into a comm and create your post from there so it naturally falls into that comm, I could not find a button to be able to change that comm...Any ideas?
Not a clue^^
