This is a post where I realised how much time I've spent in Derbyshire's Peak District. Whether it's driving through it off road, on road, on my way to work or driving home, I still gravitate back to this place when I go shooting in the dark!
This is an old abandoned lime kiln I must have driven past hundreds of times and never realised it existed:
This was from a memorable hour stood half freezing to death on a hill with @fadetoblack waiting for cars to drive past with their light trails in the snow. I have never been so pleased to have had a car with heated seats and steering wheel!
This was another memorable evening with a bunch of lightpainters at Magpie Mine, an old abandoned lead mine. One of the attendees turned up with a drone fitted with lume cubes which always works well for lighting from above. The other lighting was made my me wandering around (or stumbling) with different colours on a flashlight:
And this was shot in Chee Tor Tunnel No.1, a favourite location to shoot especially when it's raining (which is often in the Peak District!)
About me:
I usually specialise in shooting lightpainting images but occasionally dabble in urbex and artistic model photography. I'm always on the lookout for someone to collaborate with; please don't hesitate to get in touch if you'd like to create art.
