In 2006, a group of archeologists discovered the supposed remains of a 'Vampire Woman' dating back to the XVI century. As can be seen in the image, the skull belonged to a woman who was subjected to a ritual against vampires, where a brick was embedded between the jaw to kill them.

During the Middle Ages, it was believed that vampires were responsible for spreading diseases such as the Black Death, an epidemic that ravaged ancient Europe. Scientists finally studied the remains of this woman in more depth, finally resolving whether vampiric beings really existed, or were just a myth.
