Mārtiņš Sesks Prepares for WRC Portugal with Rally2 Outing

in Rally4 days ago

Hello rally fans :)!

Our wonderful and amazing driver @ssekulji wrote about this but I there’s never enough of rally news :). Make sure to check his post too!

Anyway,
Latvian rally driver Mārtiņš Sesks that proves his abilities from rally to rally is set to take on Rallye Serras de Fafe, a key preparation event ahead of his WRC Portugal appearance with M-Sport🙌🏻😁. This Rally2 outing will serve as an essential opportunity for Sesks to build up his skills, gain valuable stage experience, and ensure he is fully prepared for the challenges of his upcoming Rally1 drive😍. Sesks will compete for Past Racing, which prepared him gor Rally Ciudad de Grana test for Rally Chile last year!

Competing on the Portuguese gravel roads before the WRC event is a strategic move that many other driver practice too. The Serras de Fafe rally features many of the same stages that will be used in Rally Portugal, making it an ideal “pre-event test”. The conditions, terrain, and overall rally rhythm will provide Mārtiņš with a first hand feel of what to expect at WRC in Portugal. Since he will be stepping into Rally1 machinery later in the season, every kilometer of competitive driving beforehand will be crucial for his adaptation and better performance. We all have high expectations from him and want him to succeed :)!

Sesks will be joined by co-driver Ralfs Igavenš for this rally, ehich is a sligjt change from his usual codriver Renars Francis. Their goal is clear: to maximize this opportunity, perfwct thepace notes, and continue building confidence in high level competition. While his main focus is on development rather than outright results, a strong performance in the preparation rallywould be a great boost ahead of his performance in Rally1.

For M-Sport, investing in Sesks’ progression is part of a big effort to grow and petfect his talent. Having already shown impressive speed in Rally2, he is now being given the chance to prove himself on an even bigger stage. Which in my humble opinion is very much deserved :).

He will be racing along WRC winners Kris Meeke and Dani Sordo, who will drive a Toyota GR Yaris Rally2 and Hyundai i20 N Rally2 as part of full season campaigns.
