Today's Rally Cyprus and this one, 14 years ago, are completely different. Today's edition of the rally is much quicker and much more smooth then it was in WRC edition.
In those days average speed of the rally was around 70km/h and that's really slow for the car with 340bhp.
Gronholm once said that roads were so rough and destroyed that they drove the whole special stage on recce in 1st gear.
I mean, the suspension and car must be on the top if they just wanted to finish the rally.
One more thing: I miss the old edition of the rally. It was just special, nothing else.
