Hi, friends!
It's now less then one month before World Rally Championship will visit Croatia. There is a lot of fans in that country for rallying and WRC should be organized only in countries where there is a community interested for this sport.
Testing of WRC works teams start on 2nd of April and I will try to spectate as much as possible of them. Last year I saw probably six or seven days of testing and the only team I didn't see on tests was Hyundai World Rally Team.
This season we have a new technology called hybrid and top class is no more called WRC but Rally1. OK, some changes are always welcome after some time and now we can enjoy even stronger engines with more then 500bhp (not all the time).
There is much less aero stuff on these new Rally1 cars but that also means lower price.. That's good for privateers.
The only team which will provide the private Rally1 cars is M-Sport Ford because that is the way they finance their activities. Bigger teams like Toyota or Hyundai don't sell their cars.
It is interesting to see that Toyota didn't sell any of their WRC cars from 2017 until today. That's probably because the current Rally1 cars use an old homologated engines with hybrid unit on it so they just don't want to let other teams know their secrets about super strong engines etc.
Entry list for this year's WRC Croatia Rally is OK, I would say. Sixty six entrants is a cool number for these bad times. I just can't wait for action to starts.
You will have all the info from the testing sessions I will cover.
On this link you can see the whole entry list for WRC Croatia Rally 2022...

Great attitude from crew at @minnowsupport :)
Grab a beer and enjoy!
Cheers!
I think the hybrid technology is the death of philosophy of engine! May be i'm a nostalgic man, but the odor of burnt gasoline, it's wonderful!
Yeah, but that's just history...
