This past weekend must have been one to remind me to reach out and reconnect with friends and family in the present and not put it off. In that vein, we were asked what does "Hindsight is 20/20" mean to us. I will attempt to answer that in this post with my feable writing skills and brain fogged mind.
Supposedly the saying *"Hindsight is 20/20" *is meant to mean something about clarity and understanding we gain from past events, good or bad. However usually it is related to something bad happening or a not so good outcome.
For me it is about "Lessons Learned" being applied in the present and future. It is about not only learning from mistakes, but what could be even better than the outcomes of the past.
For instance, I have been pondering over and working on, little by little, reconnecting with fmaily and friends I have lost touch with over the years. Most of it is du to time, distance, and allowing life to get in the way.
With the tech of today, there is no reason time or distance should be a factor in reconnecting. However, life itself can throw you curve balls and become hectic if you let it. Seems mine threw a few curves and I allowed it to be hectic through my focus on career versus relationships.
"Hindsight being 20/20" I might have handled those curve balls in better ways. Also, I should have taking more control of my career and had a better work life balance.
I have been reaching out a little over time to reconnect and most attempts have been received postively. Others, I have receiveed no response, and then a couple negative responses.
This is all due to action or inaction by me at certain key points in life. I own the fact my relationships are mostly broken connections as I refer to them now.
However part of ownership, and having hindsight, is so one can learn lessons and do better. I can do better at reaching out and nurturing my connections. I have set out to do this previously, and plan to refocus my efforts moving forward.
So in closing, hindsight to me, means having the proper intelligence to reattack problem if it occurs again or continues to occur, then taking ownership to make it better.
Thanks for reading,
Joe

Hello dear friend @coinjoe, thank you for your contribution to the socialization of experiences, in this discursive exercise loaded with meanings and great openness to different interpretations. Your publication is full of reflections, with nutrients for shared learning. As you express it well, it is almost an inherited pattern, even from the most tender age, to emphasize and record in detail the not-so-pleasant experiences and intentionally leave in the background the experiences that have made us happy. It has been typical of cultures to reinforce the negative, when on the contrary we should energize what is positive and gives us happiness. Many times for various reasons, we move away from the interaction with friends and family, so it is recorded in the film of our past. However we have the present, to generate the necessary changes and look for opportunities, sometimes letting go is living, to receive the new and what flows in our tune. Until another time, happy and grateful that you have joined the discursive group. Health and wellness for you and yours !LOTUS !LUV !PIZZA

To me, that saying means it is much harder in the moment to make the right call than it is to criticize someone/yourself after the fact for not making the right call.
We win or we learn (if we reflect on lessons) and all we can do is try now to do better. Just like you with the renewed efforts to mend those broken connections.
Good point. Nothing like learning from the past to know how to better manage a similar situation down the line. It's good to see posting, getting out of the proverbial shell!
Thanks friend. Good to see you as well. Got out this morning had breakfast with one of the guys. Then we went and picked up our Toys for Tots boxes to put out later.
