Welcome to generosesity blogs ep. 3!
My 21st Birthday
Every 6th of April, my family celebrates a gift of life; my life. Last April 06, 2021, we went to a resort located in Moalboal, Cebu. Moalboal is a famous tourist spot in Cebu Province where you can find white sand and clear water beaches. It was unplanned but unplanned things are the best! It was a great experience because I was able to rest my mind from worrying about how things will work. I remembered at that time, I was struggling with my academic life and suffering from numerous breakdowns because my dogs were infected with canine distemper virus and five of them died. I can't imagine how would I go on with life at that time. Thus, I am glad that my family is there to be my support system all the time.
I'm already a 4th year student!
My 4th year college journey started. I can still recall the first day I went to college, an instructor asked why I choose Civil Engineering as my future career. I answered, "I want to become a Civil Engineer because I want to build our own house someday and also build an orphanage". And now, imagine the hours, days, months, and years of struggling, weeping, and praying will finally be paying off after this year! I am full of excitement although I know it would not be as easy as I am thinking but I know that me and all of the aspiring engineers in my batch will claim our prizes someday.
Celebrating another year of togetherness💓
It was a young love. We started our chapter at a very young age. When I was still young, my mother always told me that there is "no need to rush in everything, especially when looking for the man of your dreams". It marked on my mind. However, this young man came to my life at an early age. We started as a friend and became close friends. Until, a romantic feelings came. I thought I had the control of the game, but, as what they say, your mind can't control your heart always. I also had the same feelings with him. Years of roller coaster ride, hardships, struggles, and success. This man never leave by my side. I always have his shoulders to lean on. And I also guarantee to him, that my heart only belongs to him.
Attending a Special Wedding - Baltazar & Aying Wedding
Last October 23, 2021, my family was invited to attend a wedding of the eldest sister of my partner. It was a magical experience for me because, I witnessed the two persons exchanging their vows and promises in front of the Lord and their families. Marriage belongs to the Seven Sacraments. In our religion, it is a holy event. It shows how these two persons surrender and ask the Lord for the guidance of their togetherness and commitment. I must say that the bride and the groom, they are lucky with each other. I felt their love and dedication to each other. Being married is not as easy as counting as 1,2,3. It entails all the efforts and commitment to have a happy married life. I believe that there is no perfect relationship, there are flaws and imperfections. These flaws and imperfections are the reasons why you are fated to love a man or a woman.
MY CHAPTER 2021 PLOT TWIST: BEING OPTIMISTIC AMIDST THE CALAMITY BROUGHT BY TYPHOON ODETTE
I've learned so many things while surviving in a pandemic. Although, I don't have the responsibility with the finances of my family, I still learned being practical with life.
I thought I am tough enough to face another tragic situation. But, on the night of December 16, 2021, the plot twist of my chapter 2021 came; Typhoon Odette. My family was unprepared. We don't have much extra canned goods, ready to cook foods, and drinking water. We thought it will just be a rain that will pass through our region. But, we were wrong. A literally really strong wind started from 7pm until 1 midnight. The mango tree near our house collapsed and I am really thankful that it did not collapsed on our house. At 9pm, some parts of our roof was destroyed and water from the second floor is heavily pouring down to the first floor of our house. Again as I say, we were not prepared. Most of our important things are located in the first floor. We immediately wrap them with plastic bags and trying to rescue our important papers. While trying to mop out the water on the floor, I felt worried and pity for our 13 dogs. They were wet. I felt their anxiety at that time. They were tired. They constantly looked for some things to dry on. All I could do is provide them with used clothes to dry their wet selves. I want to cry, but looking in their innocent eyes, I felt the hope. My family did not sleep. We kept on cleaning the floor and dry our dogs.
Life must go on. The typhoon left our region wounded. However, it did not hinder us to celebrate a new year. A simple celebration and thanksgiving to the Lord is enough. On December 31, 2021, my family waited until 12am to celebrate new year.

My Chapter 2021, started and ended being so blessed. I am always thankful to the Lord for His guidance and graces. Cheers to a New Year! Happy 2022!
