Birthdays can be full of excitement and reflection, but yeah, I enjoy celebrating my birthday. There is nothing wrong with celebrating birthdays. I have a friend who doesn't like celebrating her birthday; she literally hides it. Sometimes I wonder why. Her birthday was a few weeks ago.
She didn't post her status, but then someone stumbled upon her birthday date on Telegram, and she was like, Bursted. She didn't want to share her birthday date for reasons known to her, but we celebrated her and wished her well. When I was younger, my dad made sure he celebrated our birthdays, making sure there was cake and drinks. But for some time, the years were rough, and those chapters closed, though we missed them, but there was nothing we could do.
My younger siblings will always whine and complain about not having a cake on their birthdays, but my mother will make it up by cooking their favorite meal and giving them the biggest share, and we get to sing to the birthday girl, and that's it, but when everything normalizes, we continue with the celebration at home. For my birthday, before the day, I go for a photoshoot, get a cute and adorable picture, and get a cake to celebrate with family and friends.Sadly, birthdays remind me of how old I am. When I was younger I wished to be older, but now that I am older I wish to be younger.
Each year I will be like, This is the age I am going to be. It is really exciting now, but then I just have to remind myself to live the life I want and make good use of my time with family and friends. It seems like now time is so much faster than when I was a child. I wished I could get to adulthood really faster, but it's so sad to find out what adulthood turned out to be.
Celebrating others' birthdays is more exciting to me, getting off gift stages. That really gives me so much concern because I want to get a gift that the person will really cherish and love, some sort of memory. I can still remember my 14th birthday. My best friend then gifted me a purse, though I am not still using it, but I have kept it safe, and each time I stumble on it, I just smile back to the memory.
I never gave the purse out. It's still as new as it was when given to me, and I cherished it even though it's been years now.Planning surprise birthdays is so fun, especially for the person who always celebrates our birthdays every year. He makes sure there is always a cake, and we pray, sing happy birthday at the top of our voices, cut the cake, and take some pictures. My dad’s birthday is on the 22nd, and we are kind of planning a surprise party for him. He doesn't know about it, and I am kind of excited to know his reaction on that day. I just can't wait for the day to come; I have never been much excited over someone's birthday to this extent.
