My birthday is my favorite day of the year and although sometimes I have not done any special celebration, the energy of that day for me is very significant, I feel that it goes beyond the opportunity of the celebration itself.
The birthday is for me a kind of “existential reminder”, that one that invites you to look at what you have done so far, to relive pleasant moments and even set new goals or projects for this new cycle (year) of life. It is also an opportunity to give thanks for life, and although it is something we can and “should” do every day, on that special occasion of your birthday you connect with that memorable moment when you came into the world.
This is why I am very excited about the arrival of my birthday, even from the days before, I think that the whole month of May is special for me because I stay all month connected with these premises of gratitude, reflection for what I have learned and projection for what I hope for the new year. I also feel that I connect again with my childhood and with that state of letting myself be “spoiled”. I love surprises and gifts.
I even have a ritual the day before my birthday to close or say goodbye to the previous one, every year I add different things to this ritual, but the glass of wine is always present.

¿Le gusta más celebrar su cumpleaños o el de los demás?
El día de mi cumpleaños es mi día favorito del año y aunque en ocasiones no he hecho alguna celebración especial, la energía de ese día para mí es muy significativa, siento que va más allá de la oportunidad del festejo en sí misma.
El cumpleaños es para mí una especie de “recordatorio existencial”, ese que te invita a mirar lo que has hecho hasta ese momento, a revivir recuerdos gratos e incluso plantearte nuevas metas o proyectos para ese nuevo ciclo (año) de vida. También es una oportunidad para agradecer la vida, y aunque es algo que podemos y “deberíamos” hacer a diario, en esa ocasión especial de tu cumpleaños conectas con ese memorable momento en que llegaste al mundo.
Es por esto que me da mucha ilusión la llegada de mi cumpleaños, incluso desde los días previos, creo que todo el mes de mayo es para mí especial porque permanezco todo el mes conectada con estas premisas de gratitud, reflexión por lo aprendido y proyección por lo que espero para el nuevo año. También siento que me conecto nuevamente con mi infancia y con ese estado de dejarme “consentir”. Me encantan las sorpresas y los regalos.
Incluso tengo un ritual el día antes de mi cumpleaños de cerrar o despedir el anterior, cada año voy agregando cosas diferentes a este ritual, pero la copa de vino siempre esta presente.
I also love to celebrate other people's birthdays, I try to make the birthday of my children, parents and sisters very special, and try to make sure that besides spoiling them, they can fulfill some wish such as eating in that place they love, or their favorite food, or going to a nice park in the case of the children. Weeks before, in some cases even months, I start the preparations to coordinate all the details.
Then I feel that the day goes by very fast, compared to all the previous preparation it took me to organize it, hahahaha... the important thing is that I enjoy organizing the celebration and then seeing my loved ones happy in their celebration. In the case of my birthday, I rarely organize something with so much dedication.
I am fortunate to have very special friends and family members who take care of making me feel very special on my birthday, and it is something that also pulls at my heartstrings, because it is an opportunity to appreciate all those people around you that make life even more beautiful.

También me encanta celebrar el cumpleaños de los demás, trato de hacer muy especial el día de cumpleaños de mis hijos, padres y hermanas, y procurar que además de consentirlos, puedan cumplir algún deseo como comer en ese lugar que quieren, o su comida favorita, o ir a un parque bonito en el caso de los niños. Semanas antes, en algunos casos hasta meses, empiezo los preparativos para ir coordinando todos los detalles.
Luego siento que el día pasa muy rápido, en comparación a toda la preparación previa que me llevo organizarlo, jajajaja… lo importante es que disfruto organizando la celebración y luego viendo a mis seres queridos felices en su celebración. En el caso de mi cumpleaños, rara vez organizo algo con tanta dedicación.
Tengo la fortuna de contar con amigos muy especiales y familiares que se ocupan de hacerme sentir muy especial el día de mi cumpleaños, y es algo que también me mueve las fibras del cuerpo, porque es una oportunidad de apreciar todas esas personas que te rodean que hacen la vida aún más bonita.
