It's in the thought

When it comes to gifting, I feel the whole point of it is to convey your emotions to someone. Whether love, appreciation, congratulation or whatever reason it is you have for gifting, the whole point is lost if you're not intentional about it.
The art of gifting is not limited to expensive gifts alone. There are gift ideas that are pocket friendly and will still go a long way to give the effect, expensive ones give. Here are some gift ideas of mine, I'll love to share.

Hand-written letters/notecards
This is one of those things that disappeared since the invent of technology. Letters are a great way to convey emotions in the world we live in now. A world where it is easier to pick up your phone, conjure up paragraphs and hit the send button. It's as easy as that. But with letters, it is different. You write to someone, baring your heart through your scribbles. With letters, mistakes can be made and for a perfectionist, those mistakes would not deter them. They tear it off, rewrite the entire length and continue. Letters are worthy gift ideas because so many people love effort. Effort and intentionality work hand in hand. And hand-written letters are the one of the best ways to achieve the real purpose of gifting. They are low-budget of course. You don't get to spend too much buying papers, a pen and a customized envelope. The customized envelope could be done yourself as a DIY project.

Notecards too, are great substitutes for letters. This can be done as a DIY project where you write short and sweet messages on different little cards and box them. Gifting them to someone will definitely give them something to smile about each time they open the box containing these messages. It's not something that will be finished within a day so this definitely, is a great gift idea that will be effective to the user for a span of days, weeks and probably years.

Homemade meals/Snacks
Cooking can be done by just anybody, and eaten by anybody. But when someone decides to go out of their way to prepare a meal for someone else, that is a very thoughtful gift. These are very affordable because it is done by you. The material needed too, can be pocket friendly depending on your choice of meal. I'm a student. I can't count the number of times I've received meals from people around me but each and every of these times, the meals have in one way or the other helped me. Every human eats so this is one gift idea that the receiver will appreciate.

It doesn't have to be full course meals alone. Snacks would do too. There are snacks that last longer than meals do and they will definitely serve the same purpose homemade meals do too. Homemade snacks too are cost effective as well.

Thoughtfulness itself
There are some items that you might have in your house, that someone else would appreciate. For instance, you might have gotten yourself a book and you have a book loving friend. After reading, you can consider wrapping it and passing the piece of treasure on to someone else. That is a very considerate thing to do for someone.

You can also consider handmade crafts. They're quite easy and do not require too much. Knitted and sewn scrunchies, knitted table mats, beaded necklaces, bracelets and scarfs are examples of these handmade crafts.

Just because the price of things in the world today has been inflated, that doesn't mean you should stop gifting. Instead, find a way to fit gifting into your pocket. There are budget friendly options to try out.

It is all in the thought and not in the cost. So, gift with your heart.
