Be the Friend you Desire to Have

"A brother is born for adversaries, while a friend loves at all time" and another verse Proverbs 18:24 says "The man of too many friends will be broken in pieces and come to ruin, But there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.

If you read the Bible, you would come across this verses. How true are they? I would love you to share your opinion in the comments, before you do so let me share my own experience and story about friendship..

Firstly when you talk friendship, you'd agree with me that it comes in a full pack and with it are the like of Love, Respect, Loyalty, Open Mindedness, Sharing and commitments of all kinds on the bright side. Meanwhile, on the dark side the likes of Hate, Jealousy, Malice, Backstabbing, and the general overseer BETRAYAL

My experience in friendship has rather been a kind that covers everything there is to experience starting from being a victim of Jealousy from a young age.

I remember having 4 close friends back then in Primary School and for some reasons whenever they was some bills to pay in school, my Dad sorts them out quickly while my other friends come in a bit later and being the culture that when you do not pay on time you will be sent out of class, sometimes my friends got sent out or publicly called out and you know how that feels being the one who doesn't get into that position, just looking at my friends I could tell their hearts as kids then when we all hook up one who was like the alpha will call the other two to hang out leaving me alone because I he felt intimidated and also will say to them

"please leave him let's go he is a rich man's son and we are poor". Mehn, this attitude grew with them though the other two let go as we grew older but this guy kept it up till date, he still hates me for no reason I really can't go into details about that now, though.

Fast forward to few years later when I got into the university, I met new friends from all around the country with diverse personalities some I disliked and some I cherished but as time went buy they all filtered to these 8 guys guys Felix, Israel, Chidi, Gwin, Clint Marshal, Wisdom and Freedom.

These ones I can liken to what I quoted earlier But there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.

For about 7 years now since I met these fellas, we've had so many memories I can proudly say contributed to sharpen my mentally. I learnt music from them, Israel was Mr impatient, Chidi was Mr when you guys are done planning call me, Gwin was Mr carry out the task, Wisdom and Felix were Mr Vanish and reappear and I was Mr hold them together.

Over the years we have grown to love our differences and learn to manage each others weaknesses. One major key to these achievement is tolerance.

No friendship can grow if all you do is pick on one another, but rather I grows when you can tolerate and lend a helping hand when the other is at his or her worst behavior

When you develop this kind of circle around you, you can be certain that at all times your back is covered and there are people to walk the mile with through thick and thin...

The Kind of friendship aura you discharge is the same that you attract. Be the friend you desire
