I live in a hillbilly town in upstate New York, USA, where the per capita gun ownership is eight. Firearms are very strictly regulated in NYS. Folks here are nearly all armed, and many of us have a great many weapons. We have all taken rigorus training from NRA instructors, as required by NYS law in order to legally own many types of guns, and these classes are very very very heavy on safety measures. There is virtually no crime here, other than shoplifting and DWI. I have never heard of an accidental shooting around here.

Guns are not a problem here, even though there are a great many of them. Removing them is likely to make us less safe, especially from tyrannical governments. This is my chief fear at the moment, here in the USA. And my chief fear for the entire world. The medical industry is a huge component of this particular fear of mine. We live under medical fascism right now.
