THE BEST GIFT

Hello everyone in today's prompt I will love to say that this is not just a question to me it a life decisions that comes with lots of consequences in actually fact it's not a decision one person can make but then if I were to be 80 years old I guess I would be more focus now on the idea of legacy and compassion and giving my sight to a child who was born blind just to give that child a bright future would be a rare extraordinary act of selflessness

By my 80’s I must really have had a life full of rich experience that's an almost fully completed life and of cause my remaining years will not be as long as a child's life ahead of them giving my sight is just like passing something meaningful to someone who could benefit from it for many more years to come it's like giving the child the opportunity to explore life an entire future ahead full of potential and that could be a beautiful gift

Although being without sight in my final years would undoubtedly be very challenging but the joy of knowing that someone is seeing because of you is really unmatchable and the fact that there's is no benefits attach to it shows the depth the sacrifice making it even more meaningful heaven and earth will smile at me
So apparently I think I would lean towards giving my sight it would be a very great act of kindness and a beautiful opportunity to help someone live a fuller life of that's the only good thing I do before leaving the world I will find peace in the idea that my sacrifice could open up a new world of possibilities for someone else especially knowing that the child would have decades ahead to experience and enjoy all the things I had the chance to do myself

Also considering the fact that the an 80 years old might not survive the operation because at 80 my health might already be more fragile and the doctors will always say its a 50 50 outcome
The only consequences here is that I won't get to feel the impact of my sacrifice or experience the joy of knowing the child could see amd live a fuller life because of my choice well on the other hand if I were to die in the process my life might be ending anyway and my sacrifice will be a way of contributing something lasting to the world even after I'm gone A Legacy To Remember

Writing this another thought actually came to my mind How strong and good can an 80 years old person's eye be to a new born child because by the time someone reaches 80 there will be lots of age related conditions like macular degeneration cataracts and other vision impairments which could impact the quality of the eyes
Now for a child whose body is still growing and developing even if the eye were health will the child's body be able to integrate or adjust to the transplanting process will a 80 years olds sight be a suitable for a new born child

Thank you for joining us for our Thoughtful Thursday Prompt #33 !LUV

A very beautiful answer, which I considered for a moment, but after evaluating the possible consequences, I went for the other option.

Although in the world of the hypothetical anything can happen. This question is a challenge.

Kind regards.

Exactly
