What does Christmas mean to you? How do you perceive the Christmas holiday? I will revisit this question once I have shared my perspective on what the Christmas holiday represents to me.
Christmas is a wonderful time of the year. Some individuals might argue that it simply means to commemorate the birth of Christ. For me, Christmas is way more than that; Christmas encompasses the sharing of hope, the expression of love, and having a sense of joy and happiness. It is a time when friends and family unite to exchange gifts and reflect on what they are grateful for. This season also marks the period when we begin to make our resolutions.
From my childhood days, Christmas has always remained my favorite holiday, primarily due to the unique atmosphere it creates, which is an ambiance filled with togetherness and love. Christmas instills a profound sense of hope.
Allow me to share a bit about my childhood experience with Christmas.
I was always excited when Christmas was around the corner and this is because Christmas was and still is a holiday for visiting family. It was the season of receiving gifts from people and a season of showing love, dont get me wrong, there is never a specific season to express love but Christmas season came with a special effect hehehehe. What excited me the most were the gifts that were exchanged, as they brought immense joy to me and my siblings.
As Christmas draw nearer I am so excited as this would be my first Christmas as a wife and also in the United States😃 I can’t wait to see how everything plays out and I wouldn’t miss a chance to recount my experience.
The streets and homes of every neighborhood are gradually being adorned with lights, music, festive decorations, and Christmas trees, all of which symbolize the essence of Christmas which means a lot to me.
This week, I am focusing on the Christmas Holiday Season. No matter what you decide to celebrate, share with us some holiday thoughtfulness! What's a gift that still leaves you speechless?
Growing up, we were always excited about the presents our parents gifted us. We would open those packages with so much joy and excitement. However, as time passed, the significance of those previous gifts diminished, and we began to look forward to new ones.
As I grew older, I realized that the greatest Christmas gift of all is having a family to spend the holiday with. Bonding, experience the warmth that comes with being with your “own” people, experiencing fun, happiness and so many more.
Family is everything; material things can fade away, but the love and togetherness of a family never dies because it remains in our hearts.
So yes the one gift that makes me speechless every time is seeing how far I and my family have stuck together, through thick and thin, pains and happiness, we always will be their for each other and that’s priceless.
I vividly recall the year when my dad was seriously ill and hospitalized. It was undeniably the hardest year ever as Christmas did not feel like Christmas, the usual excitement and giddiness was absent in my family and it was felt by everyone. However, that challenging time deepened my gratitude for family and the strength of our togetherness.
