I had such a wonderful weekend away, I felt so relaxed and re-energised when I got home on Sunday evening. So excited to see my girls. Monday I was back to work, but whilst I was there I managed to hurt my back a little. Which was not the best start to my week, but I wasn't going to let it ruin the wonderful weekend I had and the effect it had on my mindset.
I woke up tired and still sore, no bending for me or lifting anything heavy. Tuesday's I work for an amazing lady. who lives on the same road as me. I have written about her before, she will be 91 soon and she is still very active. I come every week to help in the garden. Her place is so beautiful. She has put so much work and love, making it the paradise it is today.
When I arrived today, she had her grandson visiting and told me that she would be leaving me to work by myself. I had some canar to cut back, leaves to clear up and some watering to do. Before leaving, C asked me, if I could do some plastering for her. There were a few spots on the outside of her house and also a spot in her bedroom. I'm always up for increasing my skill set. I also really appreciate C's trust in me, when it comes to working on her property.
We joke about how similar we are, how we both like to try our hands at everything. As she was leaving, she called out to me, " Don't worry too much about how it turns out, just get the lime on there."
She knows that I hold myself to a high standard, when it comes to work. If I'm gong to do something, that I will do it right, to the best of my ability. Plus I always like a new challenge.

The last time I done any plastering was 17 years ago, whilst I was living in Australia. One of the interior walls, got damaged during a party I was having, so I repaired it before I moved out. I didn't enjoy it though, as much as I did today. It's quite a relaxing job and I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. I might be adding plasterer to my list of skills. Especially if I get to do some more in the near future. It was the perfect work to be doing with a sore back. As there is no heavy lifting or stretching to do.
All photos were taken by me today, whilst I was at work. I know, quite a nice place to work, with wonderful company too.
I love this type of working with your hands, love building, plaster, all that world. I hope you feel better soon. <3
I hope your back feels strong soon. It is amazing to see how some people are still able to do so much when they are older. I'm sure she appreciates your help. Happy holidays.
