The unsung hero of success

Today, I would like to talk about the importance of community

What I mean by community is our support systems, our friends, our colleagues, and last but most importantly, our family.

For some of us, we understate the importance of community in the success of an individual. We lay so much emphasis on discipline, determination, focus, being self-driven, and all that to the success of an individual.

These are all very important and useful skills in a successful individual. But we amplify it and shade the people surrounding the individual, making it a success.

I often chase after my goals and forget people are the reason it is going to come to fruition. I get so sucked up in going for these goals I don't pay much attention to the people around that will make it a success.

Along the way I lose motivation, I lose its essence and meaning, and I fall away. If not for the wonderful people in my life, my little achievements wouldn't have become a thing.

I respect and acknowledge it whenever it comes to me, but when it comes to carrying them along in the pursuit of my goal or excellence, I am very bad at that.

And it becomes difficult to reach out when I have fallen away. I start to feel friction in my communication with them. I begin to feel some sense of guilt; it takes me a lot of time before I eventually get back in sync.

And sometimes, I ask myself, "How do I ever not lose this community of people by always being in sync with them? By always communicating and catching up."

I fault myself a lot for this, but if I want to be fair to myself, I don't think I am the only one who needs to put in the work for this.

Here is a little piece of me out here. One of my internal dialogues. I haven't figured it out, but it's a work in progress.

One time I experienced the full support of community during my undergraduate days when I was studying for my exams. I had friends who sent materials, and I sent to them, too. We checked in on one another, and that semester was my best semester.

I didn't believe the result I got. It was mind-blowing. I think about it, and I was like, "Was that me?" I know that was my goal, and I met it, but I didn't think I would, even though I put in all the effort to get it. It came as a surprise to me. It was my first time getting a perfect CGPA. Lucky for me, it wasn't my last time. 🙈

And when I look back, it wasn't all me. If I didn't have that community. I wasn't getting anywhere.

So I use this medium to say thank you, friends, for everything❤️

That is just one example of how community made something dear to me possible.

Therefore, I would say in all your endeavours, don't ever sideline community, thinking it is not important.

There is a saying that says, if you want to go fast, go alone, but if you want to go far, go with your community.

Cheers 🥂

Proper attribution involves a link that takes your readers "directly" to the source of the image used. Unless, of course, the image is your own! I've not heard of the site you've mentioned. But then again, I don't use AI for my photos; I like to stick to the "Original Content" statement, that our Blockchain is known for. There are several that I know many people use...

Anyway... Thanks for getting back to me, and letting me know you understand my position on this...

Yes I do.

Thank you for taking out time to correct me.
