RE: Being Someone Else Wastes Who You Are

This is a great perspective on life and living.

It gets tiring trying to be someone when in fact we should channel that energy into getting to know ourselves better. It favours us in the long run too because when you figure out who you are and why you do what you do, it will difficult to stray or entertain rubbish.
It helps you set reasonable standards and goals and puts you on a path to inevitable success.

And, as you said, when you view it from the stand point of the greater community, it just makes everything better.
