Hello, my name is Wulan Nur Alawiah, I am usually called Wulan or Lan. I am now 22 years old and will soon be 23. I live in one of the big cities in Indonesia, namely Bandung. My current status is as an 8th semester student at a private university in Bandung, like most 8th semester students I am busy with my thesis and guidance.
My college journey was not that smooth and easy, many of my relatives asked me why I had to go to college. The question arose because previously I worked for 1.5 years. I used the other half year to take care of my sick mother. Yes, they wondered why I had to go to college when my mother was still in an unstable condition. But I also wanted to go to college and wanted to work in a better place and earn a high income.
My college fees were 100% funded by my older sister, yes 100% without any interference from anyone. My father passed away when I was 13 years old. My older brother disagreed and seemed to mock me when he found out I was studying. But what else could I do, the registration fee had been paid, I had been accepted. Luckily, when semesters 1 and 2 were still online learning systems, I could still divide my time.
Semesters 3 and 4 were the most difficult semesters for me, apart from the courses, it was also difficult to divide my time with my sick mother. One of the reasons was the distance from home to campus which could take 2-3 hours. My mother, who often dropped suddenly, had to be taken to the hospital, while I had classes that I couldn't miss. Which resulted in my grades dropping drastically.
Semester 5 I experienced something bad, I had to lose my mother forever, but 3 days later I had to take a Field Work Lecture. The activity was a kind of research in a remote village that was still very beautiful and cool. There I was rented a large house inhabited by about 15 people. Consisting of 4 groups, in the house there were 2 rooms, 1 large living room and 1 bathroom. We were placed in Pasir Huni Village in Majalaya, where it is still very beautiful and there are very few vehicles. We had to walk there and climb quite extreme slopes. In addition to the difficulty of vehicles, there are also very few mini markets, ATMs, markets, and sometimes there are also problems with the bathroom which requires us to take a shower at a resident's house.
There we paid the residents to prepare us food 3 times a day, the food was quite delicious. But still for the amount of money paid and the food we received it was not worth it because the portion of food we got was very small, compared to other groups in different hamlets.
In semester 6 I lived my daily life like a regular student. I went to college and was busy with UMKM organizations. In this semester I had to choose a vocational profession that I had to take. I took finance because in addition to the few student interests. Here there is not much theory in this profession, we do a lot of practice and research outside the campus, more precisely to the bank.
In semester 7 I had to do an internship, I did my internship 2 months earlier than my campus friends. At other times, I used my 2-month vacation for an internship, I interned for 4 months. My internship was at a national Islamic bank that is quite well-known in Indonesia. I was placed in the customer section where I accompanied the bank employees there to find customers who were interested in this bank's products.
I once worked part-time as a barista at a cafe that collaborated with a campus organization, I was part-time there for 3 months. I often made coffee latte, and other coffees. The favorite menu and mainstay menu there is coffee salarea, maybe in other cafes it is called coffee milk with palm sugar.
I know this platform from my older sister who likes to write with the account @nnurdiani. About two years ago, maybe 2023, I opened an account and wrote here, but the account was considered like my older sister who wrote. There were scary comments, especially since I had just joined. From there, I stopped writing and started to forget about this account. I also forgot the password for this account.
After that incident, I learned to write on another platform. But, since the beginning I learned to write from entering college which required making journals or articles for one of the course assignments. Today, I re-created an account and started writing on this platform.
I have explained that on this platform, plagiarism or using AI to write is not allowed. My sister has also explained other things in detail. But, I will read the rules again as a newbie.
