Reddit not only shadowbans (= makes your posts and comments invisible to other users) but removes your comments without alerting you to it in any way. You have to post comments to specific subreddits to have bot check if your comments have been removed, which you might suspect if you are suddenly getting zero engagement.
How fucking lame is all that?
But I came across this website that had a list of "websites" that were "the top 10 alternatives for Reddit" that "all Redditors should know".
https://beebom.com/reddit-alternatives/
Hive is #1
It is no coincidence that list contains no mention of the overall architecture of Hive but treats it as a website. This is ok. Because it is easy to navigate from the Hive.blog front page to a the signup page showing most of the various ways to create a Hive account.
Steemit is #4
Interestingly, it is mentioned that Steemit has monetary incentives but that it has click-baity or spammy content because of it. Steemit is the "site" for crypto folks.
In any case, it is interesting that Hive is getting some exposure. Beebom.com is a mainstream website on consumer technology that says it has some 20 million monthly users.
