I really enjoyed Rabona my first couple seasons, but it doesn't allow for much downtime in the sense that if you take time off for any reason, you're likely to undo any progress made. In my case, I progressed a tier my first season, polished up a solid team that likely would have progressed another tier my third season, but then I had to step away for several days for a family vacation.
I made sure to submit lineups for the rest of the season, but the first match resulted in two fluke injuries and a red card. My lineups were dumped, so the rest of my matches used the default formation and auto-filled lineups. When I came back, I had lost every match, dropped a tier, and lost motivation to keep at it.
I'm not sure if it's the kinda treadmill I want to hop back on :S

I definitely agree it is that way, just making it so that the next best player from said position comes in would be so much better. I normally check in every day once, unless I am away somewhere, but it can become a chore, especially when the rewards aren't so great.
It's a game that can have great potential, but for now what keeps me in it is that I just like football managers overall.
