Nelly Josefina Hernández Flores, nace en la población de Tapipa, parroquia Ribas del municipio Acevedo el 13 de noviembre de 1961. Sus padres: Luis Alberto Hernández (+) y Carmen Leonarda Mijares ambos docentes de profesión, tengo 11 hermanos. Tengo dos hijos: Adrián Luis Méndez Hernández y Shene Ariadna Méndez Hernández. Una nieta: Aisha Guillén Méndez.
Nelly Josefina Hernández Flores was born in the town of Tapipa, Ribas parish, Acevedo municipality, on November 13, 1961. Her parents: Luis Alberto Hernández (+) and Carmen Leonarda Mijares, both teachers by profession. I have 11 siblings. I have two children: Adrián Luis Méndez Hernández and Shene Ariadna Méndez Hernández. One granddaughter: Aisha Guillén Méndez.
Realice mis estudios de primaria en el Grupo Escolar Tapipa. La secundaria en el Liceo Juan Francisco de León obteniendo el título de Bachiller en Ciencias (1978). Efectúe estudios de Pregrado en la Universidad Pedagógica Experimental Libertador. Instituto Pedagógico de Caracas, obteniendo el título de Profesor en Ciencias de la Tierra y Ciencias Generales (1989). Formalice Diplomado en investigación en el año 2012 a través de la Universidad Pedagógica Experimental Libertador-Centro internacional de Estudios Continuos. Para el año 2015 en la Universidad Pedagógica Experimental Libertador hice el Diplomado en Locución Radio Comunitaria.
Simultáneamente, realizaba actividades culturales dentro y fuera de la comunidad. En mi adolescencia integre como bailadora la Samba Ribas de Tapipa. Tuve la oportunidad de dirigir el Grupo religioso Alianza Juvenil (1982 y1986), Dirigí el Grupo Musical Los Campesinos de Tapipa (1986-2007). Logros: 1era, 2da,3ra Voz Negra de Barlovento, 1era Voz infantil y Premios en otros renglones.
Participe como actriz y bailadora en el Teatro Negro de Barlovento en las obras.: Malabi-maticu-lambi, Chango, Tumba la Casa Pacheco, entre otras (1990-1994) Proyecto internacional: Tercer Seminario Di Folklor Di Latino Amerika, Willemstad, Koursou 1990. Festival Internacional de Avignon, Francia 1992. Festival internacional de Salamanca, España (1992). Tradiciones populares de Iberoamérica, España. Tallerista de Teatro Negro Infantil (1990). Soy artesana, realizo trabajos manuales: muñecas de trapo, entre otros.
I completed my primary studies at the Tapipa School Group. Secondary school at the Juan Francisco de León High School, obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree (1978). I completed undergraduate studies at the Libertador Experimental Pedagogical University. Pedagogical Institute of Caracas, obtaining a Professor degree in Earth Sciences and General Sciences (1989). I completed a Diploma in Research in 2012 through the Libertador Experimental Pedagogical University-International Center for Continuing Studies. In 2015, I completed a Diploma in Community Radio Broadcasting at the Universidad Pedagógica Experimental Libertador.
At the same time, I carried out cultural activities inside and outside the community. In my adolescence, I joined the Samba Ribas de Tapipa as a dancer. I had the opportunity to direct the religious group Alianza Juvenil (1982 and 1986), and I directed the Musical Group Los Campesinos de Tapipa (1986-2007). Achievements: 1st, 2nd, 3rd Black Voice of Barlovento, 1st Children's Voice, and Awards in other areas.
