My friends online know me as Maki, Makishima (the latter because of my Telegram username @Makishima_kun) or they just call me by my real name. I'll speak later on about these alternatives names, let me talk about myself first, so for starters, I'll share a photo 👇
Soy Ingeniero en Automática, graduado de la Universidad Tecnológica de la Habana (CUJAE) y ejerzo como tal en una empresa cubana de proyectos de automatización. Me gusta mucho la ciencia, en especial la física, consumo documentales y contenido de divulgación desde pequeño y desde hace un tiempo he desarrollado un gusto especial por la enseñanza y la transmisión de conocimientos. Considero que la programación, las criptomonedas y la web3 serán los motores impulsores del mundo en las proximas décadas, de ahí mi interés por todas estas tecnologías, por aprenderlas e integrarlas a mi vida.
Me encanta el manga y el anime (de ahí, parte de mi nombre). Soy consumidor activo de series de animación japonesas y mangas de cualquier género, estas han formado parte de mi vida y de mi formación desde que soy un niño. Espero poder compartir un poco sobre esta temática también. Mi anime favorito de todos los tiempos es Naruto.
I'm an Automation Engineer, graduated in CUJAE university. I work as an Automation Specialist in a small Cuban engineering company. I love science, specially Physics and I watch documentaries and read science spreading material since I was a kid. Not long ago I developed a special liking for teaching and knowledge spreading. I think that coding, crypto currencies and web3 will be the engine of the future, that's why I am really interested in these technologies, learning them and integrate them into my daily life.
I love manga and Anime (part of my name comes from that culture). I'm an active consumer of Japanese animation series and manga of any gender. They have been part of my life and my education since I was a child. I hope I can share a bit about this too. My favorite anime of all times is Naruto.

Me encanta la música y me considero artista aficionado con los géneros Rock y Metal como mis principales preferencias, aunque me gustan otros géneros. Mi banda favorita de todos los tiempos es Linkin Park aunque tengo influencias musicales de bandas de metal y metalcore como lo son Avenged Sevenfold, Trivium, Metallica, Black Veil Brides, Bullet for my Valentine, Killswitch Engage, etc.
En el pasado me desempeñé como vocalista de una banda de rock cubana llamada ACE, con la cual grabé un demo de 5 canciones.
Actualmente estoy escuchando bandas de Glam/Heavy Metal como Mötley Crüe, Santa Cruz y Crazy Lixx como parte de mi incursión en el género, aunque ahora mismo mi mayor tiempo de escucha lo tiene Polyphia.
La música fue la principal razón que me trajo a #Hive. Cuento con una guitarra eléctrica, una Ibanez GIO modificada con un puente flotante Floyd Rose (estoy en proceso de aprendizaje) y con ella pienso realizar videos tocando canciones que me gusten o de mi autoría.
I love music and I consider myself as an amateur artist who likes mainly Rock and Metal but I also listen to other genres. I'm currently listening to Glam/Heavy Metal bands like Mötley Crüe, Santa Cruz and Crazy Lixx as part of my foray into the genre, although I spend most of my time listening to Polyphia.Music was the main reason I was attracted into #Hive. I have a modified Ibanez GIO Electric Guitar with a Floyd Rose bridge (I'm still learning). I plan to film some videos playing songs that I like or written by me.
¿Por qué Maki o Makishima_kun y por que guitar16?
Pues resulta que como jugador de videojuegos que soy, siempre he buscado un alias que sea corto, fácil de pronunciar y que sea referente a un personaje al cual yo admirase o me sintiera identificado con su forma de pensar. Entonces un día, un buen amigo me recomendó un anime llamado Psycho Pass (Se los recomiendo muchísimo) el cual posee un personaje en el rol de antagonista llamado Makishima Shougo y simplemente me encantó el personaje y la filosofía que transmite entonces lo adopté como username en todas mis redes.
Guitar16 se puede leer como Guitar Hero, ¿pero cómo? Bueno pues en japonés cuando uno cuenta objetos, para decir que hay uno decimos Hitotsu (一つ), dos Futatsu (二つ), Tres Mittsu (三つ), y así sucesivamente. Luego 16 puede ser leído como la union de las primeras sílabas del numeral de Hitotsu y el numero seis (6) en Japonés Roku (ろく) entonces cuando se pronuncia en inglés la pronunciación es muy similar a Hero, luego Guitar Hero o Guitar16. Este fué un apodo por el que cariñosamente me llamaron mis amigos durante muchos años a pesar de que mi habilidad con la guitarra no era la mejor pero compartíamos muchas noches cantando canciones populares en el conocido parque de G en el Vedado, La Habana. Qué buenos tiempos aquellos!
Why Maki or Makishima_kun and why guitar16?
Well, it turns out that as a video game player that I am, I have always looked for an alias that is short, easy to pronounce and that refers to a character that I admired or felt identified with. Then one day, a good friend recommended me an anime called Psycho Pass (I highly recommend it) which has a character in the role of antagonist called Makishima Shougo and I simply loved the character and the philosophy he conveys, so I used it in all my socials.
Guitar16 can be read like Guitar Hero, but how? Well, in Japanese when one counts objects, to say there is one we say Hitotsu (一つ), two Futatsu (二つ), Three Mittsu (三つ), and so on. So 16 can be read as the union of the first syllables of the Hitotsu numeral and the number six (6) in Japanese Roku (ろく) so when pronounced in English the pronunciation is very similar to Hero, then Guitar Hero or Guitar16. This was a nickname by which my friends affectionately called me for many years despite the fact that my guitar skills were not the best but we shared many nights singing popular songs at the well-known G park in Vedado, Havana. Good old times.

It's a pleasure to meet you and to be part of the #Hive ecosystem. First of all, I would like to thank you for your warm welcome and your kind supporting words.
I found out about Hive because I have been wanting to become a content creator by making guitar/music related videos as a personal challenge, then I found @crptogeek on Twitter and he showed me Hive and I loved the concept. I think it has more potential than traditional platforms in which I could do the same thing. @crptogeek started coaching me and I managed to elaborate my first post. Later on, specifically yesterday I found @manuphotos in the first Bitcoin/Cryptocurrencies @bitcoinasere event in my country Cuba and I officially joined the @hivecuba community where I have been welcomed and supported so I can make my debut here.
Regarding to my socials. The Instagram account I supplied is new because I made it specifically for content creation purposes, if you and other curators wish to check my identity you can look at my original account here although there are no recent photos ^^'.
