Hello! Friends of Hive, my name is ZORAIMY PARRA, I am currently 25 years old, I am proudly Venezuelan, but I have been living in Peru for four and a half years.
I am a manicurist and I like to do all kinds of crafts. When a friend plans a party or birthday, I am the one who decorates; I am not a professional in this area, I just do it as a hobby. I learned this art when I was in Venezuela, since I helped my brother to decorate in his party agency. I also have the ability to paint faces, I put this talent into practice in special events or dates, such as: Halloween, Christmas and some children's birthdays.
When I was in my fourth year of high school, I took my first manicure and pedicure course, I really loved it! I did my internship with my mom, cousins, aunts and brother. But since I had not yet finished my high school studies, I painted nails, but infrequently.
At the age of 16 I graduated from high school, and at 17, I applied to enter the Universidad Centroccidental Lisandro Alvarado, in Barquisimeto, the city where I was born, where I took three semesters of accounting. In my free time I painted my classmates' nails. Unfortunately, I did not continue studying for two reasons; one of them was because of the situation in my country, since sometimes it was difficult for me to find the money to attend the university, and the other reason, because I had failed a subject, that discouraged me a lot and I got discouraged because it had never happened to me, not even when I was in high school.
When this happened to me, I talked to my parents and told them that I would take some time to think about whether I really wanted to continue studying this career. Months later, when I was 19 years old, I found out that I was pregnant, it was a high risk pregnancy, and I had to have absolute rest, they were eternal months, but finally it was achieved, and my beautiful princess was born. When she was just a month old, her father had to emigrate to Colombia, so that we would not lack anything, but he did not do very well in that country, he did not get a job and decided to look for better opportunities in Peru.
He arrived at the home of some wonderful people who helped him and gave him work, they had a company that assembled melamine furniture. He, without knowing how to assemble a piece of furniture, dared and in a short time he stopped being a helper and became a teacher.
Four months after he arrived in Peru, he sent me the money for the tickets so that my daughter, he and I could be together again. I had to say goodbye to my family, friends and everything that made me happy in order to give my daughter a better future. When I arrived, I started looking for a job because I needed to help my partner with the household expenses. And thanks to a friend I got a job in a spa, which I loved because I would work in the manicure area. At that time my baby was 8 months old, and since I had no one to leave her with, the lady who gave me a job told me that I could take my baby to work.
It was not easy to work with such a small baby. When payday came, it should be noted that they paid me monthly, they did not pay me what they had agreed, they paid me less than half of what they had told me they would pay me. I felt a little bad, but at the same time happy, because, even though it was not much, I had gotten money to buy clothes and diapers for my baby. Thanks to my time there, I was able to learn new techniques and make friends.
Obviously, I did not continue working there. The next day I went to turn in my uniform and quit, because I was paid very little, and it was a lot of hours of work. Months later, the pandemic arrived and my partner could not go out to work, and to help him, I painted my neighbors' nails so we could buy food, and some neighbors also helped us with food.
Later, when we could go out to the streets, I got a job in another spa, they paid me a little better, there I learned to do eyebrow and face waxing, but as I had no one to leave my baby with, and she needed my attention, I could not continue working, and that frustrated me at the same time, because I always liked to contribute and have my own money.
My partner, seeing me sad, gave me the idea of working as a home manicurist and pedicurist. He helped me to buy nail polish and the basic things to start with. I was doing very well, but my daughter was growing up and when we went home, I wanted to grab everything and I couldn't do my job very well. But I had an idea, and I decided to put a space in the living room of the apartment where we rented, so I could attend to my clients, and my baby would be comfortable so I could take care of her. I started with a small table that my partner made me and then I bought more materials to work with. I am doing very well, thank God.
After that, I was conditioning my work place and buying more materials to work with. At the beginning of 2022 I was given the opportunity to update myself and take a new acrylic nails course, where I was able to learn new things.
I feel happy because I do what I like, also sometimes, when I do not have clients, I help my partner in his work, because now he decided to become independent, and no longer works for a company, but works on his own, now he is more recognized for his art and for being responsible with his clients.
My dream is to have a professional spa and continue training myself to offer the best to my clients.
I knew about HIVE because my brother @leafarp told me about his experience on the platform, and I was infected by his excitement to create content for this social network, he invited me to the Hive classes from scratch, where he told me that they could explain and guide me on how to properly use this platform. That's how I have attended the classes, and I'm really delighted, excited and super grateful to @soy-laloreto for being patient and dedicating a little of his time to teach new users.

Cuando cursaba cuarto año de secundaria, realicé mi primer curso de manicure y pedicure, ¡la verdad me encantó! Realizaba mis prácticas con mi mamá, primas, tías y hermano. Pero como todavía no terminaba mis estudios de secundaria, pintaba uñas, pero con poca frecuencia.
A mis 16 años Me gradué de bachiller, y a los 17 años, postulé para ingresar a la Universidad Centroccidental Lisandro Alvarado, en Barquisimeto, ciudad donde nací, allí cursé tres semestres de contabilidad. En mi tiempo libre les pintaba las uñas a mis compañeras de clases. Lamentablemente, no continúe estudiando por dos razones; una de ellas fue por la situación de mi país, ya que a veces se me dificultaba el dinero para asistir a la universidad, y la otra razón, porque había reprobado una materia, eso me desanimó muchísimo y me desmotivé porque nunca me había pasado, ni cuando estudiaba en la secundaria.
Cuando me sucedió esto, hable con mis padres y les dije que me tomaría un tiempo para pensar, si de verdad quería seguir estudiando esa carrera. Meses después, a mis 19 años, me enteré que estaba embarazada, fue un embarazo de alto riesgo, y tenía que tener reposo absoluto, fueron meses eternos, pero al fin se logró, y nació mi princesa hermosa. Cuando ella tenía apenas un mes de nacida, su papá tuvo que emigrar a Colombia, para que a nosotras no nos faltara nada, pero a él no le fue muy bien en ese país, no consiguió trabajo y decidió buscar mejores oportunidades en Perú.
Llegó a la casa de unas personas maravillosas que le ayudaron y dieron trabajo, ellos tenían una empresa de armado de muebles de melamina. Él, sin saber sobre cómo armar un mueble, se atrevió y en poco tiempo dejó de ser ayudante, y se convirtió en maestro.
A los 4 meses de él haber llegado al Perú me envió el dinero de los pasajes, para que mi hija, él y yo estuviésemos juntos de nuevo. Me tocó despedir a mis familiares, amigos y todo aquello que me hacía feliz para darle un mejor futuro a mi hija. Cuando llegué, me dediqué a buscar trabajo porque necesitaba ayudar a mi pareja en los gastos del hogar. Y gracias a una amiga conseguí empleo en un spa, algo que me encantó porque me desempeñaría en el área de manicure. En ese entonces mi bebé tenía 8 meses, y como no tenía con quién dejarla, la señora que me dio empleo, me dijo que podía llevar a mi bebé al trabajo.
Lo cual no fue nada fácil trabajar con una bebé tan pequeña. Al llegar el día de pago, cabe destacar que allí pagaban mensualmente, no me cancelaron lo acordado, me pagaron menos de la mitad de lo que me dijeron que me pagarían. Me sentí un poco mal, pero a la vez feliz, porque, aunque era poco, yo había conseguido dinero para comprarle ropa y pañales a mi bebé. Gracias a ese tiempo que estuve allí, pude aprender técnicas nuevas y hacer amistades.
Obviamente, no seguí trabajando en ese lugar. Al día siguiente fui a entregar mi uniforme y renunciar, porque era muy poco lo que me pagaban, y eran muchas horas de trabajo. A los meses llega la pandemia y mi pareja no podía salir a trabajar, y para ayudarlo, les pintaba las uñas a mis vecinas y así podíamos comprar comida, también algunos vecinos nos ayudaban con alimentos.
Después, cuando ya podíamos salir a las calles, conseguí trabajo en otro spa, me pagaban un poco mejor, allí aprendí a realizar depilación de cejas y de rostro, pero como no tenía con quién dejar a mi bebé, y ella necesitaba mi atención, no pude continuar trabajando, y eso a la vez me frustraba, porque siempre me ha gustado aportar y tener mi propio dinero.
Mi pareja, al verme triste, me dio la idea de trabajar haciendo manicure y pedicure a domicilio. Él me ayudó a comprar esmaltes y las cosas básicas para empezar. Me iba muy bien, pero mi hija ya estaba creciendo y cuando íbamos a domicilio, quería agarrar todo y no podía hacer muy bien mi trabajo. Pero se me ocurrió una idea, y decidí poner un espacio en la sala del apartamento donde arrendamos, para así poder atender a mis clientas, y que mi bebé estuviera cómoda para así poderla cuidar. Empecé con una mesita que me hizo mi pareja y luego fui comprando más materiales para trabajar. Me va muy bien gracias a Dios.
Después fui acondicionando más mi sitio de trabajo y comprando más materiales para trabajar. A principios del 2022 se me dio la oportunidad de actualizarme y realizar un nuevo curso de uñas acrílicas, allí pude aprender cosas nuevas.
Me siento feliz porque hago lo que me gusta, también en ocasiones, cuando no tengo clientas, ayudo a mi pareja en su trabajo, porque actualmente decidió independizarse, y ya no trabaja para una empresa, sino que trabaja por su propia cuenta, ahora es más reconocido por su arte y por ser responsable con sus clientes.
Mi sueño es tener un spa profesional y seguir capacitándome para así ofrecerle lo mejor a mis clientas.
Conocí de HIVE porque mi hermano @leafarp me comentó su experiencia en la plataforma, y me contagió su emoción por crear contenido para esta red social, me hizo la invitación a las clases de Hive desde cero, dónde me contó que por allí me podían explicar y orientar a cómo utilizar de manera correcta esta plataforma. Es así como he asistido a las clases, y de verdad estoy muy encantada, emocionada y super agradecida con @soy-laloreto por tener paciencia y dedicar un poco de su tiempo para enseñar a los nuevos usuarios.
Mi propósito en esta plataforma es conocer y aprender del contenido que van publicando los usuarios y poder compartir mis conocimientos y experiencias con todos.
