Why is podcasting still open after over 20 years? Drumroll please. The answer: there are enough users who understand how it is supposed to work.
They expect to be able to listen to any podcast anywhere they want
That is the idea and the mission. One of our challenges is to teach people that the Internet was paid for with their tax dollars, and should be open to all. No one should ever be deplatformed. We need to help change the status quo of the big four owning the accounts and the content. The big four have played their part getting everyone on the Internet. And they have been handsomely rewarded. Now comes Web 3.0 and it’s time for people to own their accounts, own their content and own their following.
It needs to be the new normal to be able to blog anywhere you want, read what you want, and own it. This needs to be the new normal.
