Today is the first time I write in this community, I have a few weeks reading your wonderful publications so I have decided to share with you some techniques for catharsis that I have practiced all my life as meditation. I love to meditate. For me it's a moment of calm that allows me to connect with myself and sort out my thoughts. However, many people think that meditating is simply sitting, closing your eyes and emptying your mind. But it is not.
Meditating can be much more than that. In fact, trying to force the mind into total emptiness can be counterproductive. In my experience, meditation works best when you use it to become more aware of the present moment.
I usually meditate by sitting comfortably, closing my eyes and paying attention to my breathing. I focus on inhaling and exhaling slowly. When thoughts inevitably arise, I don't try to ignore or suppress them. I simply observe them with compassion, without judgment, and then return my focus to the breath.
Sometimes I do guided meditations, following a recording that guides me through a relaxing visualization. Other times, I simply sit quietly for a few minutes, feeling my body calm down and my mind settle.
The important thing is to not have expectations. Meditation is not about forcing your mind empty. It's about cultivating kindness, presence and mindful awareness. With regular practice, I've found that meditation helps me reduce stress, focus and have more compassion for myself and others. It's one of the best tools for calm and wellbeing!
I hope you enjoyed this reading, I enjoyed writing it as much as I enjoy reading the work shared in this community. Fortunately internet browsers have the ability to translate web pages into your language or mine so it is no longer a barrier that prevents us from sharing and feeding each other with knowledge and good vibes. Namaste.
