Un feliz día todos comunidad de "Catarsis", ha sido una semana muy larga pero a pesar de todo con una gran actitud y un enorme optimismo. Les contare sobre mi experiencia en la Universidad, corta pero que me hizo darme cuenta de muchas cosas...
It has been a very long week but in spite of everything with a great attitude and an enormous optimism. I will tell you about my experience at the University, short but that made me realize many things...

Había decidido darle una oportunidad al cupo que tenia en la Universidad de Oriente, Núcleo Anzoátegui (Venezuela) , me inscribí en la carrera de Ingeniería eléctrica debido a que no tenia dinero u/o otras opciones que me permitieran estudiar lo que quería, cosa que a muchos de mis compañeros les paso. Dicha carrera era digamos mi "plan C" debido a que me gustaba todo lo que se podía aprender ella.
I had decided to give a chance to the place I had at the Universidad de Oriente, Núcleo Anzoátegui (Venezuela), I enrolled in Electrical Engineering because I had no money and/or other options that would allow me to study what I wanted, something that happened to many of my classmates. This career was my "plan C" because I liked everything I could learn from it.
En cuanto a estructura e infraestructura la verdad no había mucho que decir, recuerdo que de niño esta Universidad era una de las mejores tanto en esto como la educación que se daba pero debido a la situación económica y el vandalismo poco a poco ha caído la universidad... Sin embargo aun hay algunas educadores que pese a la situación siguen dando clases.
In terms of structure and infrastructure the truth was not much to say, I remember that as a child this university was one of the best both in this and the education that was given but due to the economic situation and vandalism has gradually fallen the university .... However there are still some educators who despite the situation continue to teach.
Un detalle importante el semestre lo comenzamos en si un 17 de enero y debíamos de terminar en Marzo 16, es decir 2 benditos meses... Los profesores no daban clases según los horarios simplemente decían los días que podían y que debíamos de asistir para poder ver dicha clases o algunos aplicaban la metodología online.
An important detail is that the semester started on January 17th and we were supposed to finish on March 16th, that is 2 blessed months.... The professors did not give classes according to schedules, they simply said the days they could and that we had to attend in order to see the classes or some of them applied the online methodology.
Mi primer día de clases estaba super emocionado debido a que era el comienzo de una nueva etapa de mi vida, la primera clase era "Ingles instrumental" con un profesor que enseñaba pero su método básicamente se basaba en insultarnos (con groserías) y gritarnos cada vez que hacíamos algo mal (no podíamos quejarnos, ni muchos menos hacer algún tipo de documento para reportar la situación, solamente adaptarnos).
My first day of classes I was super excited because it was the beginning of a new stage of my life, the first class was "Instrumental English" with a teacher who taught but his method was basically based on insulting us (with swear words) and yelling at us every time we did something wrong (we could not complain, much less make some kind of document to report the situation, just adapt).
Mi segunda clase fue de matemáticas, la profesora nos entrego una guía de 44 paginas sobre el tema que nos iba a evaluar, solo decidió darle clase a 3 personas de nuestro grupo y en si el grupo completo solo vio una sola clase otro día, ya a los dos días decidió evaluarnos y obviamente fue un desastre porque solo 2 personas aprobaron (entre ellas 2 de las 3 personas que vieron su clase aparte con ella)
My second class was mathematics, the teacher gave us a 44 page guide about the subject she was going to evaluate, she only decided to give class to 3 people from our group and the whole group only saw a single class another day, two days later she decided to evaluate us and obviously it was a disaster because only 2 people passed (among them 2 of the 3 people who saw her class apart from her).
Los demás profesores que estaban aplicando la metodología online entre ellos: introducción a la ingeniería eléctrica que solo debíamos de entregar trabajos, química que en si nos pasaba la clase y nos evaluaba sin ningún problema y Compresión lingüística que nunca nos mando asignaciones al parecer la materia quedara como nula debido a que no se evaluó el 50% de la materia...
The other professors that were applying the online methodology among them: introduction to electrical engineering that we only had to hand in assignments, chemistry that in fact gave us the class and evaluated us without any problem and linguistic comprehension that never sent us assignments apparently the subject was left as null because 50% of the subject was not evaluated...
Al parecer las demás materias que no hayamos cumplido mas del 50% iban a quedar como nulas y ya el semestre lo vamos a terminar este 16 de marzo ¿Dónde quedo el sacrificio que hacíamos? la verdad no lo se. Luego comenzó el tiempo de Carnaval y lo que para algunos fue unos días libres, yo decidí participar en el operativo carnaval y cuidar las zonas en otro post hablare sobre esto y lo que paso. De manera resumida me hizo dar cuenta que mi verdadera vocación se encontraba en el área de salud y el poder ayudar a las personas, servir en movimientos que brinden el cuidado y la atención especial a aquellos mas lo necesiten es donde se encuentra mi lugar. El detalle esta que en si la carrera de enfermería son 900$, suena mucho en un pais donde ganar esa cantidad es sumamente difícil pero no imposible así que decidí dejar este lugar a un lado (La Universidad de Oriente) y comenzar a ahorrar dinero para convertirme en lo que realidad quiero ser.
Apparently the other subjects that we have not completed more than 50% were going to be null and void and we are going to finish the semester on March 16. Where was the sacrifice we were making? I really don't know. Then Carnival time began and what for some was a few days off, I decided to participate in the carnival operation and take care of the areas in another post I will talk about this and what happened. In short, it made me realize that my true vocation was in the area of health and to be able to help people, to serve in movements that provide care and special attention to those most in need is where my place is. The detail is that the nursing career itself is $900, sounds like a lot in a country where earning that amount is extremely difficult but not impossible so I decided to leave this place aside (The University of Oriente) and start saving money to become what I really want to be.
