Somos un universo que se equilibra con las aportaciones y acciones de unos y otros y en todo ello pensé cuando leí Las mujeres detrás de Picasso, de la historiadora del arte, Eugenia Tenenbaum. La autora cuenta la historia desde un enfoque de género, teniendo en cuenta a ocho mujeres que desempeñaron roles importante en la vida del pintor malagueño Pablo Picasso.

Mujeres desconocidas aún cuando fueron modelos del pintor; artistas algunas; promotoras, resguardadoras de su entorno y obras; así como madres de sus hijos. Relatos con ribetes sociológicos; vivencias aliñando el arte y dando vida o matices a la personalidad y creación del pintor.
Es una obra cuya narrativa fluye ligeramente como si fueramos testigos un siglo atrás, junto a sus protagonistas. Veo 24 años de mi vida reflejada en cada página

Sentí en mi piel a cada una de estas mujeres aportadoras de ideas, enamoradas, sustentadoras de hogar, sombras de la gloria; imágenes vilipendiadas; rebeldes o sumisas; desposeídas de los frutos que ayudaron a generar.
Quizas es fácil, pasado el tiempo, ser determinante en lo que no se desea en ese tipo de relación, mientras transcurre se tiene la esperanza del cambio. Luego todo forma parte del alimento espiritual que sostiene y evoluciona nuestras vidas.

Lo más notorio en todas estas historias de vidas desarrolladas a finales del siglo XIX, otras en el XX, o en el transcurso de ambos, es que detrás de cada circunstancias está la sociedad intolerante e intransigente con las mujeres.
En ellas veo algo común conmigo: el amor; todas sumidas en la tristeza por el efecto del ego de un hombre posesivo al que entregaron sus vidas.

Esta lectura me deja la certeza que comparto con ustedes, todos trascendemos dejando una huella. Tendremos a alguien que sepa hablar de nuestras vidas aunque otros disfruten en menoscabarlas.
El arte y el mundo que lo rodea nos da el complemento para mirarnos en él cual espejo; nuestra liberación o catarsis sucede en el momento exacto en que quitamos el velo que obnubila los sentidos y echamos a andar.
Se trata entonces de hacer, de avanzar sin mirar atrás; construyendo castillos con las piedras con las que tratan de sepultarnos.

We are a universe that is balanced with the contributions and actions of each other and I thought about all of this when I read The Women Behind Picasso, by the art historian, Eugenia Tenenbaum. The author tells the story from a gender perspective, taking into account eight women who played important roles in the life of the Malaga painter Pablo Picasso.

I felt in my skin each of these women who brought ideas, were in love, supported the home, shadows of glory; vilified images; rebellious or submissive; dispossessed of the fruits they helped generate.
Perhaps it is easy, over time, to be decisive in what you do not want in that type of relationship, while it passes you have the hope of change. Then everything is part of the spiritual food that sustains and evolves our lives.

The most notable thing in all these life stories developed at the end of the 19th century, others in the 20th, or during both, is that behind each circumstance is society, intolerant and intransigent with women.
In them I see something common with me: love; all immersed in sadness due to the effect of the ego of a possessive man to whom they gave their lives.

This reading leaves me with the certainty that I share with you, we all transcend, leaving a mark. We will have someone who knows how to talk about our lives even if others enjoy undermining them.
Art and the world that surrounds it gives us the opportunity to look at ourselves in it like a mirror; Our liberation or catharsis occurs at the exact moment in which we remove the veil that clouds the senses and begin to walk.
It is then about doing, moving forward without looking back; building castles with the stones with which they try to bury us.
