Dreams and goals are part of human reality. They drive us to develop our full potential with a single goal: To grow as individuals. It is not a simple process
to reach it, but with a lot of effort, discipline, and dedication it can be achieved.
I believe that for many years I was surrounded by dead dreams and what I learned from fighting for a dream was thanks to that. In many cases, the biggest obstacle was the people themselves. Fears and discouragement enveloped them and devoured them like a hungry predator. They ended up frustrated, depressed, and aimless. Many of them are still the same today, others managed to overcome it.
I didn't think it would happen to me, given the simplicity of my goals: to graduate and have a family. It's not that I didn't have higher aspirations, I just thought it was a good starting point.

Going into college everything was going well until I hit reality at the end of my second semester. My mom had gotten cancer and everything went downhill from there. I couldn't deal with the fact of my mom's illness and the responsibilities at the same time. I had never had anything as painful as that happen to me.
I wanted to escape from either of the two things that were weighing me down, so I partially abandoned my studies. I was very overwhelmed with emotions and couldn't bear the thought of losing my mother, but I thought I had to psyche myself up given the severity of her illness.
But just when I felt my faith wavering, the Creator gave me a pleasant surprise: my mother was completely healthy. However, it was too late for my studies: I was too far behind and I was only allowed to enroll in one or two subjects per semester, so I decided to change universities. Without knowing how difficult it would be to integrate myself back into the university world.
It was a couple of years before I was able to go back to school. That "stuck" time was difficult for me. No matter how hard he tried, he could not. The country's situation was worsening and he had fewer and fewer economic resources to do so.
I was about to give up when a family member offered me a place in a free university. I couldn't be happier and I took on the new challenge ahead of me. It was not easy, but against all odds, I graduated with a degree in Education and Social Sciences.
I never imagined that along with my degree I would have the other goal to accomplish and I can assure you that it is one of the biggest surprises of my life: my little family. She arrived while I was waiting for my college degree and made my life more exciting.
The beginning of this new stage in our lives was not easy either. There were very painful and difficult moments. Many times I thought we would not make it, but my faith pushed me forward, and thank God, I did not give up.
Now I want to work for my new dreams, I want to grow up with my family and be able to have a place to call home.
I want to be an exemplary wife and mom and be able to teach my daughter how beautiful life can be. That she can be a good person, that she can motivate others to be better and leave a mark on the environment around her.
Regarding my studies, I would like to pursue a master's degree in history. I think it would be the next step to develop myself as a professional. Esto junto con mi meta de ser escritora, un dueño frustrado que deseo volver realidad.
Now that I look back I see the lessons learned over the years. One way or another I have made it this far and I am proud of all that I have achieved. Now I go in pursuit of fulfilling new dreams, with new traveling companions, who paint this new experience in a thousand colors and as they say in the old books, "Let's go get 'em!"

Expectativa y sueños cumplidos
Los sueños y metas son parte de realidad humana. Nos impulsan a desarrollar todo nuestro potencial con un solo objetivo: Crecer como individuos. No es sencillo el proceso
para alcanzarlo, pero con mucho esfuerzo, disciplina y dedicación se puede lograr.
Creo que por muchos años me vi rodeada de sueños muertos y lo que aprendí de luchar por un sueño fue gracias a ello. En muchos de los casos el mayor obstáculo eran las personas mismas. Los miedos y el desanimo los envolvían y los devoraban cual depredador hambriento. Terminaban frustrados, deprimidos y sin rumbo. Muchos de ellos hoy en día siguen igual, otros consiguieron superarlo.
Creía que no me pasaría a mí, dada a la simplicidad de mis metas: Graduarme y tener una familia. No es que no tuviera mayores aspiraciones, si no que pensaba que era un buen punto de inicio.

Al entrar en la universidad todo iba bien hasta que choqué con la realidad a finales del segundo semestre. Mi mamá había enfermado de cáncer y a partir de ahí todo fue en descenso. No podía lidiar con el hecho de la enfermedad de mi mamá y las responsabilidades al mismo tiempo. Nunca me había sucedido algo tan doloroso como aquello.
Quería huir de alguna de las dos cosas que me agobiaban, así que abandoné de manera parcial mis estudios. Me encontraba muy desbordada de emociones y no soportaba la idea de perder a mi mamá, pero creí que debía mentalizarme dada la gravedad de su enfermedad.
Pero cuando sentía que mi fe flaqueaba, el Creador me dió una grata sorpresa: mi mamá estaba totalmente sana. Sin embargo ya era demasiado tarde para mis estudios: estaba demasiado atrasada y solo me dejaban inscribir una o dos materias por semestre, así que tome la determinación de cambiarme de universidad. Sin saber lo difícil que sería poder volver a integrarme en el mundo universitario.
Pasaron un par de años antes de que yo pudiera volver a estudiar. Ese tiempo "estancada" difícil para mí. Por más que lo intentaba no podía. La situación del país se agravaba y cada vez poseía menos recursos económicos para hacerlo.
Ya iba a rendirme cuando un familiar me ofrecido cupo en una universidad gratuita. No podía estar más feliz y asumí el nuevo reto que tenía por delante. No fue sencillo, pero contra viento, marea y covid-19 me gradué de licenciada en Educación Cs Sociales.
Lo que jamás imaginé que junto con mi titulo tendría la otra meta por cumplir y puedo asegurar que es una de las más grandes sorpresas de mi vida: mi pequeña familia. Ella llegó mientras esperaba mi título universitario e hizo mi vida más emocionante.
Tampoco fue fácil el inicio de esta nueva etapa en nuestras vidas. Hubo momentos muy dolorosos y difíciles. Muchas veces pensé que no lo lograríamos, pero mi fe me impulsaba hacia adelante y gracias a Dios, no me rendí.
Ahora quiero trabajar por mis nuevos sueños, quiero crecer con mi familia y poder tener un lugar al que llamar hogar.
Quiero ser una esposa y mamá ejemplar y poder enseñarle a mi hija lo bella que puede ser la vida. Que puede ser una persona de bien, que motive a otro a ser mejores y que deje una huella en el entorno que la rodea.
Con respecto a mis estudios me gustaría hacer una maestría en historia. Creo que sería el siguiente paso para desarrollarme como profesional. Esto junto con mi meta de ser escritora, un dueño frustrado que deseo volver realidad.
Ahora que miro atrás veo las lecciones aprendidas durante estos años. De una forma u otra he llegado hasta aquí y estoy orgullosa de todo lo que he logrado. Ahora voy en pos de cumplir nuevos sueños, con nuevos compañeros de viaje, que pintan del mil colores esta nueva experiencia y como dicen en los libros viejos: "¡A por ellos!"
