Hola mis queridos amigos Hivers, en especial a los miembros de esta comunidad de @catarsis, esperando que se encuentren bien.
Hoy quiero compartir con ustedes la experiencia vivida con mi familia el pasado martes 27 de diciembre del 2022, cuando fuimos de paseo a la playa en puerto cabello estado Carabobo – Venezuela.
Desde 2014 no habíamos visitado la playa y menos mal que nos decidimos y además nos organizamos para hacer el viaje en familia. La reserva estaba lista para hospedarnos en el Centro Termal las Trincheras, pero como el horario de check in de las habitaciones era a partir de las 4 PM. Decidimos ir directamente a Puerto Cabello y bañarnos en la playa.

Llegamos a Playa Huequito como a la 1 de la tarde, contemplamos el mar, yo particularmente, estaba muy contenta y agradecida de estar en ese hermoso lugar, los niños felices (mis hijos y mis sobrinos). Poco tiempo después, mi madre Dora Esperanza decidió meterse a nadar, en ese momento cuando nos sosteníamos para entrar poco a poco, fue derribada por una ola. Escuché cuando gritó: mi pierna, cuando me doy cuenta esta caída, eso fue en cuestión de segundos, con la ayuda de mi esposo tratamos de levantarla, siendo esto imposible.
En ese momento llegaron tres señores y nos ayudaron a sacarla de la orilla, porque todo pasó en la orilla y ella se sentó en una silla, uno de los señores dijo que era bombero, y yo me tranquilicé un poco porque pensé: "Él sabe primeros auxilios y le empezó a revisar la pierna, desde la ingle hasta los dedos de los pies a mi madre": Sabe primeros auxilios, en ese momento comenzó a revisarla, palpándole la pierna, desde la ingle hasta los dedos de mi madre y me dijo que al tacto estaba bien, de igual manera, me recomendó llevarla al médico y hacerle una radiografía, por otro lado, le levantamos la pierna y se le colocó hielo.
Ese fue un momento de mucho suspenso, mi mamá se había caído, pendiente también de los niños, gracias a dios mis hermanas estaban alertas y los sacaron del agua. Después de esos minutos, nos calmamos un poco y decidimos que lo mejor era retornar para Barinas y así fue, a eso de las 4 P.M. ya estábamos de regreso a casa.
A la mañana siguiente, llamé al Dr Randolph Gil Lavado, traumatólogo y amigo de la familia, el cual me indico que le hiciera una radiografía de rodilla frontal y lateral, al enviarle la imagen me notifica que tiene factura en la meseta de la rodilla y la tibia se había desplazado, me asuste mucho y en la cara de mi madre se veía una gran preocupación.

El médico nos recomendó inmovilizar la pierna para evitar una intervención quirúrgica, debido a la edad de mi madre, ya que tiene 70 años. Comenzó su trabajo extrayendo 91cc de sangre de la rodilla, en ese momento el dolor y la inflamación que presentaba mi madre se redujo, luego procedió a llevar la tibia a su puesto, allí le colocó un yeso, este lo utilizará durante un mes y medio, realizando control radiográfico cada 15 días, le indicó medicación oral. Gracias a Dios, todo el procedimiento se realizó en la casa de mi madre, para evitar movilizarla.
Actualmente mi madre se encuentre de reposo, algo cansada de estar acostada o sentada por ratos, de igual manera, le doy gracias a dios que no paso a mayores, sé que la recuperación será lenta, lo importante es que mi madre tiene buena disposición y la mejor actitud. We arrived at Playa Huequito at about 1:00 in the afternoon, we contemplated the sea, I, in particular, was very happy and grateful to be in that beautiful place, the children were happy (my children and my nephews). Shortly after, my mother Dora Esperanza decided to go for a swim, at that moment when we were holding each other to enter little by little, she was knocked down by a wave. I heard when she shouted: my leg, when I realize this fall, that was in a matter of seconds, with the help of my husband we tried to lift her, being this impossible.
At that moment three gentlemen arrived and helped us to get her out of the shore, because everything happened on the shore and she sat on a chair, one of the gentlemen said he was a fireman, and I calmed down a little bit because I thought: "He knows first aid and he started to check my mother's leg, from the groin to the toes": He knows first aid, at that moment he started to check her, palpating her leg, from the groin to my mother's toes and he told me that to the touch it was fine, in the same way, he recommended me to take her to the doctor and do an x-ray, on the other hand, we lifted her leg and ice was put on it.
That was a very suspenseful moment, my mom had fallen in, also watching the children, thank God my sisters were alert and pulled them out of the water. After those minutes, we calmed down a bit and decided it was best to return to Barinas and so it was, at about 4 pm we were back home.
The next morning, I called Dr. Randolph Gil Lavado, traumatologist and friend of the family, who told me to do a frontal and lateral knee x-ray, when I sent him the image he notified me that he had a bill in the plateau of the knee and the tibia had shifted, I was very scared and my mother's face showed great concern.

The doctor recommended us to immobilize the leg to avoid a surgical intervention, due to my mother's age, since she is 70 years old. He began his work by extracting 91cc of blood from the knee, at that time the pain and inflammation that my mother presented was reduced, then he proceeded to take the tibia to his post, there he placed a cast, this will use it for a month and a half, performing radiographic control every 15 days, he indicated oral medication. Thank God, the whole procedure was performed at my mother's house, to avoid mobilizing her.
Currently my mother is resting, a little tired of being lying or sitting at times, anyway, I thank God that it did not happen, I know that recovery will be slow, the important thing is that my mother has a good disposition and the best attitude. Me imagino la angustia que todos ustedes como familia sintieron en ese momento. En realidad creo que fue la mejor decisión retornar a Barinas para que le hicieran los chequeos médicos.
