In this episode, I dive into why I decided to step away from Hive, a platform I once enthusiastically promoted as a beacon for Web3 social networking. Here's the breakdown:

  • The Downvote Economy: I discuss @krom's eye-opening article about how Hive has become a "downvote economy." I've witnessed how established users use this system to their advantage, essentially squashing new creators and hoarding rewards among themselves.

  • Decentralization Contradiction: I also cover another of @krom's insights, where he mathematically shows how Hive's downvote mechanism actually centralizes control, contrary to what you'd expect in a decentralized network. This has led me to question if Hive truly stands for what it preaches.

  • My Journey with Hive: I share my personal journey, from being a hopeful advocate to recognizing the platform's failure to evolve into a fair, decentralized space. Despite my efforts to push for change, the system seemed rigged to favor the 'Hive oligarchy.'

  • Conclusion: I stopped promoting Hive because it feels like endorsing a system that's more of a pyramid scheme than a community-driven platform. I urge listeners to look for alternatives that might better embody the principles of decentralization such as Blurt

I wondered what happened to you. I am really kind of on the way out myself I believe. It's the same old people talking about the same old shit and I am just done. I built multiple projects here and have gotten virtually no support from the upper echelon at all, but they want all of us to support everything they do. Nothing but a circle jerk. So I get you and have been fighting the urge to just completely shut down all my socials except for my new FPV drone stuff, just because that if fun.

Shared this to my substack.

I decided to power down and sell 200Hive and stick it into blurt as me giving it a shot at it. I have been investing some earnings into hive and still will continue to and benefit from its many features till the thing croaks and dies. I have a lot (for me anyways) invested to back down now. I feel like a monad deep inside still when it comes to these sites. I'm walking on the fence post for a while now. Watching all three chains rise and fall from its own design. It certainly is better on blurt when it comes to freedom of speech. It's still new and growing slowly but steady but so is it's price.

To be frank I rather sell weed and buy tools then invest into cry|puto tokens.

As for my own experience, just look at my last account, @yayogerardo -6rep lol. All for poking bears.

And now on this account I got buildnotawhale aka themarkymark down voting all rewards. This all started when I entered his AMA to see if I really could ask anything. But I found out that you could but with a price.

Permanent blacklist which is fine, and permanent DV by his bot, to show how much of a coward hives hero really is.

Then there's the case of Value plan syphoning off the dhf. Should be called value menu plan. Hive rewards on the cheap like a dollar menu at McDonalds.

For asking questions, sharing an opinion. It's wild out here. Definitely not family friendly as advertised. Only corporate speak allowed. No dissenting opinions buñec stake weight and superiority complex and inflated weak ego and spineless enablers and sycophantic behavior ala the flying monkeys.

More of the user base here SHOULD powerdown and Pick up BLURT. It's a simple math; no downvote, no theft. These chains are designed to inflate at a set pace. Even if you don't post on BLURT, your stake will still grow, gradually. hive has a a small group of criminals that will take everything you do here. It's an enterprise that SHOULD be shut down Officially but it is the Internet... and we HAVE been warned.

I'm considering the fulltime job of coming back here to promote a season of converting users from hive to BLURT only because I want to completely annoy the living shit out of the Whales and A$$holes who still get Pissed about FORKING BLOCKCHAINS.

Well, there is dissenting opinions of course. But question directly to the oligarchy about what they do and you'll be sorry you ever did.

I left Hive because they never supported my project, I was trying to get ahead and nobody gave me a hand! In Hive I never grew exponentially, I was trying to work hard, for years and nobody saw my effort, that's why I left to Blurt. Negative votes suck because they take away the rewards you can earn with your effort, there are also some groups that support each other and if they don't like you they blacklist you and no one votes for you, there are also automatic votes, many people take advantage of others. People who do not deserve it have thousands of votes and large amounts of rewards in their publications and people who really deserve it because they invest time and effort creating content have zero rewards and no support, is a disgusting reward system that has Hive.
Hive system is to favor the big whales who have a lot of money and if you ask them for help they will not help you, if they help you they will want something in return, like your time, dignity. Hive's reward system encourages corruption and is a bad example for other platforms, Hive is the worst I have ever known. Also the whales manipulate you so you can't create content on other platforms, they prevent you from voting, they don't want competition, they think competition is bad, but they don't know that competition and the free app market favors everyone and generates benefits for EVERYONE. Stop being hypocritical HIVE WHALES, let people do what people want to do.

With lots of love!

Conclusion: I stopped promoting Hive because it feels like endorsing a system that's more of a pyramid scheme than a community-driven platform.

Let's put some music to that bro!!

ROFL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Whats happenin @por500bolos?

I'm surprised you remember this video. Those were good times.
Good choice of song for the comment to. "The Darkness" seems fitting.
If we ever had gotten a good recording of it I would've included it in the podcast.

Do it bro!! :)

Tell to any of the AIs that you know to restore this recording and produce it again as louder and clear as you wish. In the meantime, let me also add some other inspiration elements and slogans so that once the AI restores it, you can also dedicate and sing it directly to the hive flaggots.
