Hello, we have a few updates for you today!
Witness voting
Minnow Support Project Updated Witness Voting. Before the hard fork we suspended our witness voting rules as an emergency measure to support the true steem witnesses as we felt it was vital to the integrity of the steem blockchain. Now that Hive has been born we will be returning our previous votes to the following witnesses who are enabled on Hive:The @minnowsupport account has a significant proxy so we have a process for witnesses to apply for our vote which can be seen in this post:
We still have witness slots available so if you would like to apply please see the document above, make an application and DM it to one of our moderators on Palnet!
MSP-Lovebot
MSP-Lovebot has been giving automated votes to minnowsupport delegators as a small thank you almost since our inception. We have moved towards manual curation using our MSP-Curation and updooter initiatives and thus will be retiring Lovebot and using that steem power to go towards those projects. If you wish to undelegate we understand, if you continue to delegate anyways that's wonderful! Either way, we thank you very much for your support as our delegators have allowed us to give out many thousands of votes over the years!
Palcoin on Hive and Airdrop!
Palnet tribe on Hive
Many of you are probably wondering what our intentions are for the PAL token. It has taken some deliberation to decide the best path forward. For now we have opted to keep PAL running on steem-engine so it will scan the Hive blockchain for the tag so you will receive PAL tokens when posting from Hive and using the palnet tag as usual. To clarify, this means you will no longer get the PAL from using the tag on steem, it will only be distributed from Hive posts. This will be in effect shortly and we will update you when it is live!
As things develop, we will continue to evaluate our options. Possibilities include:
- remaining on steem-engine if the blockchain continues to be stable
- moving the token entirely to hive-engine
- waiting for SMT/HMT's to launch on Hive
We will keep you updated on any further changes.
PAL airdrop
We completed the last airdrop as scheduled at the end of March and will continue the airdrop plan as announced!
If you have any questions about either HIVE/STEEM or just want to say hello, please drop in to the PAL discord and we will be happy to help. A big thank you to the wonderful community we have here, see you all on HIVE!
-The Minnowsupport Team
Looking forward for this update.
Looking forward to details regarding the airdrop 🍇🍇
Will there be a list of which tribes are supporting which chains? Seems like I'm getting way to confused by all of this
Most are moving. Natural Medicine is.
Thanks for clearing that up, will make it a lot easier! Ah blockchain life, I tell you
I know right, lol!
I understand this post to mean that PAL has switched from drawing on Steem blockchain to drawing on Hive. Why isn't this available to all tokens on Engine? Seems simple enough, and for folks that want, I don't see why Engine doesn't allow token creators to change their names as desirable.
Migration of Engine to Hive complete. Buying a new token should only be necessary to outfits that want to be active on both Steem and Hive blockchain. Tokens that only desire to move the chain on which their data is drawn should be allowed to do so, as PAL has been.
Thanks!
I think the token stays on steem-engine, but acts on the hive blockchain. I don't see in this post that the PAL token has moved to hive-engine - but it appears that they intend to move the token at some point in the future.
FWIW I run then server for a Steem-engine token that scans both hive and Steem blockchains for activity. It's possible but takes resources.
Doesn't PAL draw on blockchain data to determine how it's being invoked, just as many SE coins do? Seems like it's not any different to draw that data from Hive than from Steem.
So yeah, you want SE / HE tokens tied to their chain and leave it up to the token issuer how they want to deal with the two chain thing. In principle yes, but there are problems. E.g. we cannot assume that @userX on one chain is @userX on the other chain. Even if the account existed before the chain split, the original account holder might've sold off their account on one of the chains.
I reckon the communities concerned can handle that as they will. The number of accounts that have changed hands is likely low. This would be vastly preferable to many than having to create a new coin.
Had the palcoin in steem-engine migrated to hive? where can i check it?
