I have what could be called an aunt, we are not really family, but for years she has behaved with me as if she were, she is very joking and I clearly remember that one day we were touching on the subject that money does not buy happiness and there came out of her mouth a phrase that I do not forget, because although she said it in jest it is usually very true:
“Money does not buy happiness, but when it goes, it takes it with it.”
Health, wind, sky, rain, sun, heat, among others are not bought with money, but there are many other things that are, such as medicines to get better in case of an infection, food, land, a house or an apartment, washing machine, refrigerator, bed, car, cell phone, television, computer, clothes, shoes and more are bought with money.
It is also very true that material things do not bring happiness, we can feel happy for obtaining an achievement after much effort, but it is something temporary, for example I have acquired many things thanks to HIVE, among them the computer I use to create content, cell phone, the bed and mattress where I sleep, the washing machine, but I also learned that being happy is a decision and we can be happy with a lot and a little.
Now, there is something I spend a lot on and that is my cats. Currently, I have five, but I had seven or more and, as expected, having a pet, in this case more than one, requires time and money, but that makes me happy.
When I didn't know how vital it is that cats consume wet food I spent on commercial food, of which not all or most are not of quality, I still do, but after learning that Mr. Cat had started with urinary problems by consuming only kibble, my life changed and having two more cats, I decided to change their diet for health.
So, besides buying big bags of food, I'm talking about 20 kilos bags, I buy proteins and vegetables to prepare wet food at home for my cats, that is only part of the expense, because after becoming a responsible Karen (cat mom) I bought and got kennels for my cats, which also costs money, but if for example, I have to deworm the herd I can take them all at the same time and I avoid double trip.
On the other hand, I like to see my cats looking nice, so I buy collars for all of them, I even put some in good condition to the community cats I feed.
For me, my cats are a blessing. They accompany me and show me affection in their own way, they have taught me to love from another point of view and therefore, investing and spending money on their food, health and aesthetics is a pleasure and makes me happy.
