So, I would like to start by narrating how the whole thing started. I was just on my own about 2 years ago when I saw a beautiful picture flashing my eyes as I logged into my facebook account. What actually captured my heart was her beautiful smile. When I saw it I just couldn’t resist because the smile was just amazing. So I had to quickly chat her up the next day, telling her how beautiful she looks and all that. I requested to be her friend. Fortunately for me I was accepted as a friend and that gave me the confidence to always reach out and check up on her. After some time I asked her out and she accepted and that was how our relationship started.Hello everyone, welcome to the Hive Naija Weekly Prompt / Edition 86. I am @akwash360 and I’m glad to be part of this week’s edition. I must say that this prompt is quite an interesting one. Maybe that is because I’m currently a victim of ‘Online dating’ and my relationship has been good for two (2) years now even though there are ups and downs just like any other one.
It’s a very long distance relationship and we get to see each other probably four times a year only. But with the help of whatsapp and other social media platforms we could talk all day, making it seem like we are physically together while we are not. We make communication a seamless thing looking at the fact that we don’t get to see each other regularly. We always talk during the day and at night before going to bed and I must say that it is the best relationship I have had so far. We started a relationship without even meeting physically. Funny enough right. But as time passed by we finally decided to meet one on one. It was funny that day because she saw a guy coming towards her when she dropped and she said to herself if this is the guy then I must return home today. Lol, that was because he didn't meet her expectations. Lo and behold he’s not the one. Few minutes later I showed up and she liked what she saw. Lol

And one of the things I can boost that keeps this relationship going is TRUST. For the fact that we are away from each other, we ensure total transparency in all we do. We barely missed each other’s calls and we always keep each other updated about our daily activities. We shared our pains and happiness with each other without hiding anything. These actually help us to trust each other the most and I believe that is the strength of the relationship because I don’t see myself dating someone that is not trustworthy most especially in a distant relationship like this.
In conclusion I must say that distance relationships in this age are better if the both partners will be transparent enough because transparency is what will help them build trust for each other.
I must confess, it wasn’t easy trusting someone from a distance completely, looking at the fact people cheats while physically present. But if you really want the relationship to work then you need to do your best to show your partner that you trust him/her totally as you also present yourself trustworthy.
