Missed-up things.

Warm greetings to you all!

Have you ever felt like time is moving like it's in a race these days? Sometimes I can't help but ask myself, "hey, when did we end the previous month?" Looking at the present month I'm currently in, I can't help but sigh and wonder "when did we get to November hehe". The days are just moving so fast that I feel like the 24 hours make one day is not enough for me. I wish it could be 36 hours make a day.

October was a super busy month for me. I had several event invites with my musixal group, plus work and home tutorials. I thought things won't get any busier when the school where I teach decided to commence extra classes for the SSS3 students who would soon be writing their O'level examinations come May 2025.

This meant that my closing time was changed from 3p.m to 5:30pm everyday. I would resume work as early as 7:3a.m but leave at 5:30pm before proceeding to attend the few home lessons I was registered with. That made my close time in total to extend to 8pm. Of course woth this kind of schedule, I "missed up" on certain things.

First was my health

There is a vernacular proverb used in my place which states that

Body no be firewood (meaning the body is not made of wood).

I got carried away doing what I was doing forgetting to take a break. I worked even on weekends because the 24 hours was not enough for me to achieve certain stipulated goals. Add musical rehearsals to it all that can stretch for about four to six hours simply to be well prepared to deliver the best. All these were just building up the already present malaria fever in my system. When all was done last month and I had a bit of rest from those musical rehearsals, my body broke down from all the stress accumulated. Thankfully I was able to receive treatment promptly and now I'm much better.

I and my brother

The second thing I didn't pay attention to was my younger brother's birthday.

My immediate younger brother was born on the 30th of October, same day as when halloween is celebrated in some countries. In fact, the halloween wave online is what makes me not to forget his birthday each year but surprisingly, I almost forgot his birthday this particular year. I was so choked up with work that it was at 7pm Nigerian time that I saw the Facebook notification on my phone. I quickly went online to send him a birthday wis, posting his pics before going on to his dm to apologise for my late messages. He understood because he is my good brother and I appreciated him for it with a little token. Birthday mistake solved hehe.

These were some of the things I didn't pay much attention to in the month of October but thankfully I'm all the wiser to not repeat my mistakes.

Thank you all for reading. This is my entry to the #novemberinleoinitiative for day 12.
